  1. I’ve told you several times that I almost always have a tune of some sort in my head.
Most often it’s silly song like “Rollin’ In My Sweet Baby’ Arms”. But since Kim posted “Meeting in the Air” by June Carter, that has been the tune I’ve been carrying around.

  2. From “World” on the internet:

The U.S. Navy granted its first waiver for a male officer who identifies as a woman to continue serving as his “preferred gender” despite military restrictions on transgender service members.

I wonder how this “woman” will make it in the barracks.
I can imagine this in a men’s barracks 70 years ago. I doubt that human nature has changed this much. The women will not allow this “female” in their barracks-club.

  3. Chas, when daughter was in the psych ward in Utah, for suicidal talk, there were also other suicidals, witches, and transgenders. A boy who wanted to be a girl was in the girl’s wing. This was somehow considered okay. Let me reiterate: they were in the psych ward.

Anyway, daughter regrets going there and the other places. She believes she messed her life up by pretending to be suicidal. I don’t know what is pretend there and what is not but I do believe she has more damage due to her trips to the psych wards but we did not appear to have any other options at the time.

  4. Chas, I had the Rutter benediction stuck in my head this morning, but probably because I listened to it first thing 🙂

  5. 🙂 Washing machine has been moved to it’s new home and is being used as I type

🙂 As I stand facing the machine, the area looks so pretty! 😦 As I turn around the rest of the room is a mess!

😦 Now we wait until the furnace is installed this week before further work (like moving the dryer)

🙂 Furnace should be installed this week

🙂 We will have heat again – which we’ve needed as it’s gone down close to freezing a few nights

😦 Had to cover the seedlings in the garden last night – that was not fun

🙂 We have seedlings in the garden

🙂 Michelle got straw (no hayberries for her!)

  6. 🙂 I got all the plants I bought in the garden. I am thanking God I can still do it. I have a device that you can sit on, kneel on or use to help you up. I always find out how out of shape I am doing these things that are not regularly on the schedule. I used to not think twice about them. I have become more grateful and that is a good thing.

🙂 Our friend tested negative for Covid. Hopefully, it is not one of those false negatives.

😦 He and his wife are usually together and they have a big family. They all would have been there, but can’t. That is sad for everyone. Thank God for phones etc.

😀 Now I have “Rolling in my Sweet Baby’s Arms” in my head. Thanks, Chas. 😀

  7. 😊 it is a lovely day and my neighbor says she may be ready to walk again after having lost her father a couple of weeks ago…it will be good to walk and listen
😳 husband agreed to a “zoom” interview with one of our pastors which will be put on our church’s website….I do not like this sort of thing at all…might I feign laryngitis?

  8. Sorry about that Kathy.
It’s a nonsense song, words have no meaning, to give various instruments a chance to show off in a concert.
    Words have no meaning: e.g.
“Aint gonna work on th railroad
Aint gonna work on the farm
    Gunna lay ’round the shack
’till the mail train comes back
an’ rollin my sweet baby’s arms.

    Second verse is worse.

  9. 10:58, beautiful

Kare, at michelle’s the washing machine could move itself into place — but it might not stay there.

    🙂 Three-day weekend

🙂 Ceiling light/fan fixed in the bedroom; outdoor motion lights working again

😦 Knee is better but still not 100% – results from Xray should come next week

😦 Coronavirus and all it’s horrible direct and ripple effects

😦 Contention growing amid the people in our nation

😦 Politicians not helping – what happened to the concept of national “leaders”?

  10. Another mystery. Now that I gave up and sprayed Raid to kill all the frustrating ants (after 10 weeks of “humane” killing them), I guess my laundry systems have decided to join the fray. Sigh.

  11. Let’s hope this is a random spike week; LA numbers also very concerning

Coronavirus: Cases in California hit new peak, deaths nearing new high
More than 2,000 new cases, over 100 deaths Thursday for 3rd time in past week

  12. Just kidding, Chas. My husband’s jam group has one or two people who do that song off and on. It is always good for an up tempo happy song. The main thing is often the instrumental breaks in it which give a good excuse to show off the different instruments.

  13. Kathy. That, as I said, is the purpose of the song.
Each instrument has it’s chance. The tune is good.

The words don’t make sense in context.
    But who cares?

  14. Now: “Meeting In The Air” has come back.
    That isn’t all bad.

That isn’t all bad. I have been pondering the state of those who have died.
The spirit, I am convinced, is presently with God.
There will be a time when we are given a resurrected body.
That’s the way I interpret John 5″26. where Jesus says those who trust Him pass from death unto life.
I know that could be interpreted differently, except for John 11:26 where Jesus says, “He the lives and believes in me shall never die.” And Jesus told the thief on the cross, “Today you will be with me in paradise.”oppears that when a person who trusts Jesus for salvation exists in a spiritual life until the time when the graves are emptied.
I don’t understand all of that, but it helps explain the appearance of Moses in the gospels..
The concept has become important to me lately.

  15. Chas – I often wonder what it is like for Hubby now being with Jesus.

Something that I wonder about is Paul’s reference to the dead as those who sleep. I can see why some think that our spirits are in a type of sleep condition until the resurrection.

  16. Whatever, it is, it will work out well. I wonder about it but I know He knows how He will do it. The thief on the cross and Moses and Elijah all seem to indicate we will be in His Presence. I think it has more to do with His control of time, which we see as confusing. If we are asleep we won’t care. If we are hanging around the Throne Room, we won’t care. But we know we will be with Him in the end and for eternity.

  17. I have a Pastor’s-wife (PCA) friend who believes “we will all show up together.” I like that idea, especially because it illustrates the fact that time is meaningless to God.

  18. 😦 I don’t know why – as there is nothing special about the date – but today I have been missing Hubby especially deeply. In some moments, the ache has been so acute that I have sobbed more deeply than I have in quite a while.
