It’s Friday, so please remember to pray for Mumsee, Mike, and the Nestlings.
Anyone else?
Psalm 46
A song.
1 God is our refuge and strength,
an ever-present help in trouble.
2 Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way
and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,
3 though its waters roar and foam
and the mountains quake with their surging.
4 There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God,
the holy place where the Most High dwells.
5 God is within her, she will not fall;
God will help her at break of day.
6 Nations are in uproar, kingdoms fall;
he lifts his voice, the earth melts.
7 The Lord Almighty is with us;
the God of Jacob is our fortress.
8 Come and see what the Lord has done,
the desolations he has brought on the earth.
9 He makes wars cease
to the ends of the earth.
He breaks the bow and shatters the spear;
he burns the shields with fire.
10 He says, “Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth.”
11 The Lord Almighty is with us;
the God of Jacob is our fortress.
That Psalm is appropriate for us now.
It is getting difficult.
“Be still and know that I am God”
,,,,,
The Lord Almighty is with us.
Amen

Husband plans to run home today. Just for a restock. Daughter and family are back in their home but have nothing as their “stuff” all went to storage as per Navy. But we happen to have an extra couch, dining room table, dishes, mattresses, bedding, kitchen supplies, etc. He will pick those up and take them down for them.
Prayer for: wisdom (it won’t happen if it shouldn’t), wakefulness driving, peace for all. And the joy of the Lord. May God be glorified.

Pray for my former (retired) pastor who’s home from the hospital but remains physically weak having had a bout with pneumonia.
He posted this last night: “The weird one thought that crossed my mind is: if my corona test comes back negative, I’ll be the most vulnerable guy in So Cal.”
He’s loved by so many.

And prayer for Carol and her fellow residents (the facility holds about 100). I’m thinking especially of those (most of them, according to Carol) who are without any kind of phone now that they’re confined to their small (but shared) rooms and there are no family or friend visitors allowed. No contact with the “outside” would be awful and I am grateful Carol at least has that.

And prayer for me, I am trying to be an encouragement to my (unbelieving) neighbors but am finding it difficult right now.
