Prayer Requests 11-27-19

It’s Wednesday, so don’t forget Ajissun and the folks in The Gambia.

Anyone else?

Psalm 107:1-9

Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;
    his love endures forever.

Let the redeemed of the Lord tell their story—
those he redeemed from the hand of the foe,
those he gathered from the lands,
from east and west, from north and south.

Some wandered in desert wastelands,
finding no way to a city where they could settle.
They were hungry and thirsty,
    and their lives ebbed away.
Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble,
and he delivered them from their distress.
He led them by a straight way
to a city where they could settle.
Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love
and his wonderful deeds for mankind,
for he satisfies the thirsty
and fills the hungry with good things.

  1. One of our old Navy friends, Glenn, a devout Catholic, has been diagnosed with Stage 4 renal cancer which has already metasticized. He’s hopefully headed for surgery next week at Johns Hopkins but outlook is not good.

I’m sad today about a lot of things.

Thinking about Mumsee and her crew as well; praying every time I wake up at night and throughout the day.

  2. Mumsee report: I don’t know when we last talked. On the twenty fourth, we went in to have another baby. She came in at nine pounds, a bit overripe but quite healthy. I spent the night in the hospital with her and her mommy, but became violently ill and they whisked me off to the ER for further testing. This time they decided it was a UTI and a severe viral stomach infection and I am not to be near any of the babies for two weeks. Best laid plans of mice and men…

Prayer for new mom as she is struggling with self doubt and guilt for not being more helpful. Did I mention her dog got run over and killed while she was delivering the baby? Twelve year old was out walking the dogs as she normally does and older daughter’s dog was running along and dove under the only passing truck in the area. Sometimes I don’t think my life is real.

  3. As to the twins: girl baby will be coming off all equipment but the feeding tube in the next few days if things go according to plan, and all that will be left is watching her grow according to the nurses.
baby boy is slower on the release but they anticipate turning his bililight off in the next few days and then gradually the rest. He is not gaining weight as quickly as she at this point.

  4. Thank you, Mumsee. I’d figured your latest grandchild had probably arrived. More prayers, of course, but such wonderful news on your older granddaughter and glad tidings on your grandson.

    Thanks be to God.

Interesting how God took the decision out of your hands over which daughter to help. I pray for recovered health for you and also Mike, but also an opportunity to get the rest you obviously need. xoxo

  5. I had to call in sick, as my asthma acted up last night. Hoping it will have calmed down by tomorrow. It was too much exposure to dust yesterday. When I was tested for allergies, the testing sites on my wrist for dust mites swelled up dramatically within a few minutes. The respirologist pointed to my swollen wrist and said “That is what your lungs look like.” It took a couple of days for the swelling on my wrist (and it swelled up even more for several hours after the testing) to go down. It is that way for my lungs too when they get irritated.
