“Marilyn Synek is a communications specialist who works for the group Nebraska Family Alliance. Wednesday, Synek started her morning with a visit to her favorite coffee shop. While there she was confronted by a trans woman working at the shop who cursed at her and told her to leave and never return. Here’s what happened from Synek’s own Facebook post:

One of my favorite weekly traditions is to start my day at 7 AM with a Cultiva breakfast. I’ve done it loyally once a week since I moved to Lincoln. Today, an employee of the shop approached me and said, “Marilyn Synek! I didn’t recognize you until now, but I just realized who you are, what you stand for, and the work you do. You are ****** bigoted trash, and we do not want you in our restaurant. Over 80% of the people who work here are queer. You are not ****** wanted in our restaurant, so get out and don’t come back! If you do try to come back, we will all refuse any service to you.” The cafe was busy with other customers who watched the incident transpire.

I’ve never broadcasted my political opinions in the shop before, and I have always treated the employees of Cultiva with respect and courtesy. While we, as Americans, can disagree politically, it is very important to maintain civility when interacting with people who hold different world views. Tolerance goes both ways, and the division in our current political climate will perpetuate if we neglect basic civility.

The employee, whose name is Natalie Weiss, was fired shortly after the incident.”

    https://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2019/09/general-flynn-goes-on-offense-against-the-deep-state.php

“GENERAL FLYNN GOES ON OFFENSE AGAINST THE DEEP STATE
Several months ago, General Michael Flynn replaced his original defense team with Sidney Powell, a Texas lawyer who is a veteran of the Department of Justice and author of Licensed To Lie: Exposing Corruption in the Department of Justice. Powell is a self-promoter, but she also appears to be a very good lawyer.

She certainly is aggressive. Powell has launched an all-out attack against Flynn’s prosecutors, whom she regards as dishonest and corrupt. Given what we have learned about the involvement of the FBI and DOJ in the Russia collusion hoax, there is no reason to think she is wrong.

On Wednesday, Powell’s motion to compel further production of documents from the prosecution was unsealed. Margot Cleveland comments at The Federalist:

Yesterday’s filing expanded exponentially on the areas of evidence Powell seeks and lays bare Powell’s bigger plan moving forward: to expose the breadth and depth of SpyGate and how flaying Flynn lay at the heart of the soft coup attempt.

In her Motion to Compel, Powell catalogued 40 categories of evidence the government has refused to turn over. She seeks a court order requiring federal prosecutors to provide the withheld evidence under Brady and its progeny. Brady and its offshoots require prosecutors to disclose material exculpatory and impeachment evidence to the defense team.

It remains to be seen how Judge Sullivan will respond to the motion. A long time has gone by since Flynn pled guilty to one count of lying to the FBI (which I suspect he likely didn’t do), and Judge Sullivan seems to have reservations about the prosecution. In any event, as Cleveland points out, Powell’s detailed requests indicate that she has a good idea what went on behind the scenes as DOJ and the FBI were trying to set up Donald Trump:”

“Lawyer Sidney Powell’s bigger plan is to expose the breadth and depth of SpyGate and how flaying Michael Flynn lay at the heart of the soft coup attempt.”

    —-

“What is fascinating about this request is that the uninformed will see the 2014 date as evidence that Powell is on a fishing expedition, while in reality, her bid for this information shows that Powell has in three short months pieced together more tiles in the mosaic of the Russia collusion fraud than Robert Mueller did in two years.

That is because the spying on Trump likely began with spying on Flynn, and involved not just the FBI, CIA, and Department of Defense, but their British counterparts, and dated back to Flynn’s time as President Obama’s Defense Intelligence Agency director. Then after Flynn joined Trump’s team, Halper and the British crew peddled a fake story that Flynn was having an intrigue with a Russian agent named Svetlana Lokhova.

For dragging her into their hit job on Flynn, Lokhova, who is a British citizen, sued Halper and the media outlets who published this tale for defamation. As I explained at the time she filed suit, Lokhova’s complaint suggests that the spying on the Trump campaign began in early 2016—not in late July after the FBI learned Mifsud fed Papadopoulos details about the Russians having dirt on Hillary.

Powell doesn’t explain any of this in her request, but the details she does include show she knows. The question is whether Judge Sullivan will allow her access to the evidence she needs to prove that Flynn was a victim of egregious government and prosecutorial misconduct—the scope of which we are still learning.”

“Chris Coons: Beto O’Rourke’s Call For Gun Confiscation Last Night Will Be Used Against Our Party For Years”

“Well, yes. O’Rourke’s cri de coeur last night about yanking AR-15s out of their owners’ hands happened to come just one day after the NYT published this piece reporting that House Dems have dropped their push for an assault-weapons ban — even though they’re just seven votes shy of a House majority. That’s quintessential Pelosi, not wanting to spend political capital on a measure that can’t possibly become law and which would risk spooking right-wingers into higher turnout next fall, putting moderate Dems in purple districts in even greater danger. Nancy’s plan on gun control is the same as Nancy’s plan on impeachment: Play it safe. Do a little something to make your base happy but don’t do anything that’s likely to enrage the opposition without producing anything meaningful for your side.

Then along came Beto last night and Leeroy-Jenkinsed her plan on live national television.

“That clip will be played for years at Second Amendment rallies,” said Dem Sen. Chris Coons to CNN this morning of O’Rourke’s vow to confiscate assault weapons. (The full clip is below). Other centrists who have spent months trying to midwife a compromise in the Senate on more modest legislation involving background checks were mortified by O’Rourke’s display:”

“Civics Survey: 1 In 5 Americans Can’t Name Single Branch Of U.S. Government”

“Americans appear to be improving in their basic knowledge of the federal government, an annual survey shows. Yet despite the progress, one in five adults still can’t name even one of the three branches of government.

The annual Annenberg Constitution Day Civics Survey, a study conducted by the Annenberg Public Policy Center at the University of Pennsylvania, found good news and bad news when it comes to Americans’ knowledge of how their government functions.

Among the good news: According to the survey, which conducted interviews with 1,104 adults, the American public knows more now about the Constitution and the concept of the separation of powers than in the previous five years. The survey found more adults responding correctly to questions about constitutional rights and other civics concepts.

The bad news is that only about 39% of adults can correctly name the three branches of United States government (executive, legislative, and judicial, in case you were wondering). While this is the highest mark in the last five years, it still leaves room for improvement. Nearly a quarter of those surveyed — about 22% — couldn’t name a single governmental branch. Still, that’s markedly better than the previous two years when a third of respondents were stumped on the same question.”

“AOC: Miami Will Not Exist ‘In a Few Years’ Without Green New Deal”

    https://freebeacon.com/politics/ocasio-cortez-miami-will-not-exist-in-a-few-years-without-action-on-climate-change/

“Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D., N.Y.) said Wednesday that Miami has only a few years left on this planet.

At an NAACP forum, the democratic socialist touted the Green New Deal, her radical climate change plan many have criticized as unrealistic. Economists, investors, and energy industry experts have frequently noted the plan’s astronomical costs and the unreliability of renewable energy, but Ocasio-Cortez said her critics are the ones who are “not realistic.”

“When it comes to climate change, what is not realistic is not responding … with a solution on the scale of the crisis—because what’s not realistic is Miami not existing in a few years,” she said to applause.

“We need to be realistic about the problem,” she added.”

  7. There will be some who will blame Trump, or the influx of liberals fleeing high taxes in Cali., but the reality is it’s self inflicted. The numbers don’t lie. This has been a long time building and started pre-Trump. You embraced it, and now you and all of us will pay the price.

Texas is lost, and it will become nearly impossible for an R to win the presidency in the future.

And it’s why Roberts’ betrayal on citizenship question was so important. That could have helped limit this, but Roberts ensured that won’t happen now.

    https://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2019/09/make_no_mistake_the_gop_is_losing_texas.html

“To date, five congressmen from Texas have resigned instead of seeking re-election in 2020. Their resignations signal two things from GOP leadership. The first is the realization that Texas is now lost. The second is that this loss is due entirely to the changing demographics resulting from legal and illegal immigration.

The five congressmen that have resigned are Bill Flores (17th), Will Hurd (23rd), Pete Olson (22nd), Kenny Marchant (24th), and Mike Conaway (11th). Of these five, Congressman Conaway is unique in that his district will likely remain red for some time. He has not faced an opponent in numerous election cycles.

Congressman Hurd’s district 23 has always been very competitive with the victors winning the general elections by an average of about 1% in the last three elections. The district follows the border with Mexico, and it is a bit surprising that Republicans have been able to get elected at all considering it is 24% white and 69% Hispanic.

In 2012 and 2016, the Republican in district 23 was able to outspend opponents by a margin of 2 to 1. In 2018, the Democrats actually outspent the Republicans in that district by a slight margin of 6 to 5. The fact that the Republican was the incumbent was likely the sole deciding factor in the Republican victory. With that same Democratic candidate already raising close to $600,000 for 2020, the GOP leadership saw this district as not worth the $5 million they spent in 2018. District 23 is now permanently blue.

Districts 17, 22, and 24 follow the pattern already seen in district 23. With massive numbers of legal and illegal migrants, the demographics of those districts has caused a gradual and undeniable shift from Republican to Democrat. For the election cycles in 2012, 2014, 2016, and 2018, the Republicans have won district 17 with percentages of 80%, 65%, 61%, and 57%. District 22 has been won with percentages of 64%, 67%, 60%, 51%. District 24 has been won with percentages of 61%, 65%, 56%, and 51%.

These declining percentages mirror the demographic changes: district 17 is now 56% white and 26% Hispanic; district 22 is 42% white and 25% Hispanic; and district 24 is 50% white and 24% Hispanic. This makeup represents a tipping point where the base of the Republican party is simply outnumbered due to migrants that have entered the country recently or are coming of age to vote.

Looking at the financial data paints an even bleaker picture for Republicans. In district 24, there has been no serious effort by Democrats, and they have been outspent by a margin of 10:1 with the best Democratic effort mustering only $100,000 in 2018.

In district 22, the only serious effort from Democrats came in 2018 where they spent $1.5 million compared to the incumbent Republican’s $1.9 million – and they nearly won. Mirroring district 23, that same Democratic candidate from 2018 has already raised close to $400,000 for 2020.

District 17 has shown similar numbers with no candidate on the Democratic side raising more than $85,000 compared to Republican spending of $1.3 million.

This tells us two things. The first is that serious candidates on the Democratic side can not only challenge Republicans such as Congressman Olson or Congressman Hurd, they can win. Make no mistake, had Congressman Olson and Congressman Hurd not resigned, they would have lost in 2020 (baring some Trump surge).

The second is that Republican share of the vote is steadily shrinking despite the lack of spending by Democrats and massive spending by Republicans.

As noted, the reason for this is simple: demographics. For decades, the Republicans have told their voters that they were going to clamp down on illegal immigration and address the legal immigration policies that have facilitated this takeover. They have made excuse after excuse for not fulfilling those promises and now that lack of action is turning Texas blue one district at a time.”

  9. The Republicans have no one to blame but themselves for losing texas.

The article assumes Hispanics vote Democratic but that wasn’t always the case esp in Texas. Hispanics were attracted to the family values and hard work style Republican party. That party no longer exists. Hence the move to the Democrats.

Even more relevant is the urbanization of Texas. Urban residents tend vote centre left.

Rural areas vote conservative so victory lies in the suburbs. The typical middle class voter values stability, community, good governce, and order. Given the current chaotic Republican party, suburban voters are looking to the Democratic party.

And finally, why the obssession with migrants? Despite various conspiracies and myths migrants don’t vote.

“Air Force use of Trump Turnberry resort in Scotland dates back to Obama administration”

“U.S. Air Force crews have been put up at President Trump’s Turnberry Resort in Scotland at least 40 times since 2015, according to the preliminary findings of a department review.

Earlier this week, the Air Force launched a wide-ranging review of housing policies for personnel operating around the world in the wake of multiple reports that crew members have stayed at properties owned by the president’s Trump Organization during overnight refueling stops.

An Air Force spokesperson told The Washington Post in an email that of the 659 overnight stays that crew members took near the Glasgow Prestwick Airport over the last four years, “approximately 6 percent of those crews stayed at the Trump Turnberry.”

The Glasgow Prestwick Airport has become an increasingly significant refueling stop for U.S. aircrew in the last several years. The Air Force this year alone has made 259 stops at the airport and stayed overnight 220 times, according to a Politico count.

The initial findings of the review did not specify how many of the stays took place during the Obama or Trump administrations, but the publication noted that Air Force crews made 95 stops at the airport and stayed overnight 40 times in 2015.”

    https://taskandpurpose.com/biden-us-troops-pakistan

“Joe Biden wants US troops based in Pakistan to fight terrorists in Afghanistan. No, seriously. He really said that.”

“File this under, “It’s a bold strategy, Cotton.”

Former Vice President Joe Biden has suggested essentially moving U.S. troops from Afghanistan to Pakistan, whence they could launch counter-terrorism raids over the border, as needed.

Biden, who is attempting to secure the Democratic nomination for president in the 2020 election, mentioned his plan during Thursday night’s Democratic debate in Houston.

When asked if President Barack Obama’s decision to withdraw U.S. troops from Iraq in 2011 was a mistake, Biden said no and quickly changed the topic to Afghanistan.

“We can prevent the United States from being the victim of terror coming out of Afghanistan by providing for bases — insist the Pakistanis provide bases for us to airlift from and to move against what we know,” Biden said. “We don’t need those troops there. I would bring them home.”

But given the Pakistani military and intelligence service’s connections to the Taliban and terrorist groups, it is extremely unlikely that Pakistan would agree to host a U.S. counter-terrorism mission, said Bill Roggio, a senior fellow with the Foundation for Defense of Democracies think tank in Washington, D.C.

Pakistan has long supported the Taliban’s efforts to defeat the United States in Afghanistan, said Roggio, managing editor of The Long War Journal. Meanwhile, the Taliban continues to shelter Al Qaeda.

“American political leaders seem to have magical theories about what to do in Afghanistan and don’t really want to do the heavy lifting in order to take on the Taliban, Al Qaeda, and other jihadist groups there,” Roggio told Task & Purpose. “The sooner American political leaders realize that Pakistan is an enemy and not an ally of the United States, the sooner we can move forward and deal with the problem.”

“The remains of more than 2,200 unborn children have been found at the Illinois home of a former Indiana abortion doctor who died earlier this month, according to reports.

The discovery was made by members of the family of Dr. Ulrich Klopfer, who died Sept. 3. The family members had been searching through Klopfer’s belongings after he died, FOX 59 of Indianapolis reported.

There is no evidence that any abortions were performed at the private residence, the Will County (Ill.) Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.
