    “The conservative group Judicial Watch, known for suing for public records, released the documents related to Ohr’s salary Friday, saying they obtained them from the Justice Department through a Freedom of Information Act request.

    Ohr’s actions during that time have been of interest to investigators, as it’s believed Ohr was the back channel between Trump dossier author Christopher Steele and the FBI. It was also revealed that his wife, Nellie Ohr, conducted opposition research on Trump for the firm Fusion GPS – the same company that commissioned the dossier – raising conflict of interest questions.

    Judicial Watch is questioning why Ohr, who was later demoted at DOJ, was given a bonus.

    “These documents will raise questions as to whether the conflicted Bruce Ohr, who the FBI used to launder information from Christopher Steele was rewarded for his role in the illicit targeting of President Trump,” Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton said in a statement.

    “Since she was first elected to public office in November 2016, Ilhan Omar has rarely avoided the opportunity to talk for public consumption. We happened upon an exception to the rule back in 2016 during Omar’s 2016 campaign for the Minnesota legislature when we learned of Omar’s marriage to Ahmed Nur Said Elmi. At the time she held out Ahmed Hirsi as her husband on her campaign site and elsewhere. We found that Omar had legally married Elmi in 2009 and wondered if he was her brother. Omar remained married to him from 2009 to 2017. Although Omar has three children with Hirsi, Omar never did marry him until last year.

    As the story blew up in the local media, Omar treated it as a public relations crisis. She brought in Democratic operative Democratic operative Ben Goldfarb to do the talking on her behalf. The campaign issued a statement that went back to the royal flush of bigotry accusations, decrying the “Trump-style misogyny, racism, anti-immigration rhetoric and Islamophobic division” allegedly motivating questions about her marital status. Omar herself refused then and since to answer questions about her marital history or even who Elmi is if not her brother.

    Omar’s election to the Minnesota legislature made her an intergalactic superstar. It was Time for Ilhan, according to the documentary made about that race. Filmmaker Norah Shapiro was on to something. By the time the film was released, it was time for Ilhan to move on to Congress. She hasn’t shut up since.

    When Omar refuses to talk, it’s unlike her. Her silence reflects an insoluble problem. This week she’s not talking. She’s not talking about the unlawful joint tax returns she filed with Hirsi…while married to Elmi.

    This week it was revealed that Omar filed joint tax returns with Hirsi in 2014 and 2015. Today Star Tribune reporters Patrick Condon and Patrick Coolican get around to the story in “Rep. Ilhan Omar jointly filed tax returns prior to legal marriage.” Coolican covered the marriage story in 2016. Condon and Coolican reiterate the received version of her marital history according to Omar:”

Over what period of time did Omar and Hirsi file joint tax returns? My guess is that it runs back to 2002. We know she filed joint tax returns with Hirsi while she was still married to Elmi. In addition to the IRS issues, the questions intersect with those arising from Omar’s marriage to Elmi.

    In any event, Omar has woven a tangled web. It is the kind of web we weave when we practice to deceive. I have embedded the findings of the campaign finance board that coincidentally brought the story of her unlawful joint tax returns to light. See pages 5-6 of the findings.

    Condon and Coolican relate Omar’s marital history as though we have learned nothing since 2016. They take Omar’s recitation of her marital history at face value. In a series of investigative reports for PJ Media, however, David Steinberg has provided voluminous circumstantial evidence demonstrating the fraudulence of Omar’s story.

    The Department of Justice claims that the full transcript is consistent with the overall incident. Dowd disagrees, pointing out that by “taking out half my words, they changed the tenor and the contents of that conversation with Robert Kelner… Isn’t it ironic that this man who kept indicting and prosecuting people for process crimes committed a false statement in his own report.”

    Dowd has accused Mueller of seeking to “smear and damage the reputation of counsel and innocent people.” He stated that the special counsel “never raised or questioned the president’s counsel about these allegations despite numerous opportunities to do so.” Dowd, a highly respected and veteran D.C. lawyer, is rightly upset. When read in full, the transcript shows that he is not trying to obstruct the probe. To the contrary, he is respectful of resigned national security adviser Flynn’s decision to withdraw from the joint defense agreement and does not expect Flynn’s attorney, Kelner, to disclose confidential information. Furthermore, he is not only worried about what Flynn’s cooperation means for his client, the president, but also for the country.

    Dowd’s request was not only entirely proper for a president’s counsel to make, but obligatory for any defense attorney properly seeking information necessary to his defense. By editing the transcript to fit their narrative, the Mueller team distorted the facts. If an ordinary lawyer or prosecutor were to provide a quotation in a court submission that omitted words that undercut his argument, he would be subject to discipline.”

    Bright, who is 38 years old, tweeted under the account “@DrPizza,” where he self-identified as polyamorous, pansexual, and “pervy” in his profile.

    He often used the account to tweet vile insults at President Donald Trump, including one accusing the president of having incestuous feelings for his daughter.”

    Along with Blumenthal, the private intelligence network consisted of former CIA agent Tyler Drumheller. Drumheller is another checkered character who was attacked at length for his dishonesty in former CIA director George Tenet’s memoir At the Center of the Storm: My Years at the CIA. While Drumheller was being paid by Clinton for intelligence assessments, he was also a consultant for CBS news where sources say Drumheller used his influence to kill a damning 60 Minutes report on her handling of Benghazi. (For more Drumheller see my report on “ Hillary’s Spymaster” from the October 19, 2015 edition of THE WEEKLY STANDARD.)

    The third member of the “secret spy network,” was Cody Shearer. Among other things, the three men were trying to leverage their connections to Hillary Clinton when was secretary of State in order to get a lucrative contract in Libya for Osprey Global Solutions, a government contractor that does everything from intelligence assessments to arms dealing. Emails show that Clinton took the advice and assessments of Blumenthal’s crew seriously. It’s further worth noting that Jonathan Winer was appointed the State Department’s Special Envoy for Libya in September of 2013, after Clinton stepped down as secretary of State and his longtime boss John Kerry took over. However, given his position specifically involved overseeing what was going on in Libya, it’s likely he was apprised of what Blumenthal, Shearer, and Drumheller were up to, years before he helped get Shearer’s anti-Trump opposition research to Steele.

    The fact that Shearer was involved in all of this should raise alarm bells, but we’re just scratching the surface of what he’s done over the years. This Slate article from 1999 on Shearer is worth reading for all the gory details, but as Slate puts it, he’s so dodgy “If he didn’t exist, the vast right-wing conspiracy would have invented him.” Shearer is closely tied to the Clintons. His brother was an ambassador during Bill Clinton’s presidency—Derek Shearer went so far as to write a letter to Bill Clinton demanding an ambassadorship as a reward for “working behind-the-scenes with Cody and with Sid Blumenthal to promote your candidacy, to defend you and to attack your enemies.” Cody Shearer’s sister is married to Strobe Talbott, Deputy Secretary of State during the Clinton administration and a friend of Bill Clinton’s since they were at Oxford together.”

    . . . . “One of the things we’re most concerned about is the increasing incidence of adults bringing across children that are not their own. I had a gentlemen in Guatemala last week tell me that everybody knows that bringing a child is a passport for migration right now,” McAleenan said.

    McAleenan said that in the first few days of a program to conduct DNA tests the department identified “24 people that were fraudulently claiming to be parents of a child they were crossing with.”

    “How many more cases are out there,” the DHS chief added.

    McAleenan also noted that in the first 4 weeks his team has also identified 180 cases of false paternal claims under different identification methods, 360 fraudulent documents, and over 300 prosecutions of people purporting to be parents.

    The results may be even more impressive if the real numbers are revealed.

    In a pilot program, approximately 30% of rapid DNA tests of immigrant adults who were suspected of arriving at the southern border with children who weren’t theirs revealed the adults were not related to the children, an official involved in the system’s temporary rollout who asked to be anonymous in order to speak freely told the Washington Examiner Friday.

    . . . . In some incidents where Immigration and Customs Enforcement told the adults they would have to take a cheek swab to verify a relationship with a minor, several admitted the child was not related and did not take the DNA test, which was designed by a U.S. company.

    Former Arizona Governor Jan Brewer’s editorial in the Arizona Capitol Times praised the Trump administration’s foresight and initiative in setting-up Operation Double Helix.

    By now, it should be clear that the objections to testing purported family units were utterly disingenuous. Our system affords special treatment to family units, and open-borders advocates have applauded the exploitation of those loopholes as a way of circumventing legal restrictions on immigration.

Family units, as coyotes and their liberal enablers in the U.S. have learned, are much more difficult for our law enforcement professionals to handle than the single adults who used to make up the vast majority of illegal immigrants.   21. In SS this morning we were discussing culture changes that are affecting and could destroy our culture. We didn’t mention the corruption of media, except TV briefly and the many new media sources. But the willingness of reputable sources publishing lies is likely a major cause of the fall
    in the near past, a newspaper would not publish a lie. You could tell that they gave a slant to the news. But everything they published was believable.

  23. The AOC video is interesting. I watched a different version on a left wing site and a certain point I said to myself, if someone cuts the video here she will look really stupid. And that’s the exact point where AJ’s video.

    AOC was trying to make a point that white supremacist violence although treated as a hate crime was not treared as serious as Muslim terrorism because it was designated as terrorism. In the case of homegrown Muslim violence, the FBI looks for organizations and international connections. A white supremacist incident doesnt receive the same broad investigation.

  24. Marriage outside of the Anglo Saxon countries is more complicated. A religious ceremony is not sufficient and one must be married by a govt official. Hence one can possibly be married to two different people.

    For example, its possible to obtain a state divorce in Austria and then remarry while still being married to your original spouse according to the Catholic church.

    Among immigrant communities this gets even more complicated since you need to register your marriage within the country. When my wife and I were married in Canada we were not recognized as married in Poland. Similarly a Canadian who married in Poland and then separated and moved to Canada did not need a divorce im Canada since he was considered single. My friend later remarried in Canada…..I’m not sure if he ever divorced his Polish wife.

    My.point here is simple. Immigration and marriage are a weird combination and sometimes convenience is used. I think Omar’s outrage is little over the top but I can sympathize with here. Its an easy way to pick on recent arrivals whereas old white guys in the old boys club carry on corruption without criticism.

  30. AJ – That reminds me. I once stumbled across a website about “marriage equality” that was not about same-sex marriage, but advocating for brothers and sisters being allowed to marry. It had brother and sister “couples” sharing their stories and insisting that they should be able to legally marry. I didn’t stick around to read much when I realized what it was.
