  1. Here comes the reckoning. 🙂

    https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2019/may/13/john-durham-appointed-william-barr-investigate-rus/

“William Barr appoints U.S. attorney to investigate Russia probe origins”

“Attorney General William P. Barr has tapped the U.S. attorney in Connecticut to examine the origins of the Russian election-interference probe, according to reports late Monday.

John H. Durham, the top federal prosecutor in Connecticut, has been asked to get the bottom of the Justice Department’s investigation into members of the Trump presidential campaign.

Mr. Durham’s probe will focus on whether the Justice Department lawfully collected intelligence on Trump campaign associates, according to both The New York Times and Associated Press, each citing sources familiar with the matter. ”

    ———

“President Trump has long demanded the Justice Department look into whether the FBI spied on his campaign at the behest of the Obama administration. His calls have increased since Mr. Mueller concluded there was no evidence that the president or members of his campaign colluded with Russia.

Mr. Durham’s probe is the third known investigation into FBI and Justice Department decisions surrounding the 2016 election. Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz is evaluating the Justice Department’s wiretaps on former campaign associate Carter Page. And John Huber, the U.S. attorney in Utah, is also reviewing a surveillance warrant obtained by the FBI to spy on Mr. Page.

Mr. Horowitz’s findings are expected to be released this month or next while the progress of Mr. Huber’s probe has remained shrouded in mystery.

In addition, Senate Judiciary Chairman Lindsey Graham, South Carolina Republican, has also pledged an aggressive committee investigation into the FBI and Justice Department’s actions in 2016. He said the probe will target how the department was “so in the tank for [Hillary] Clinton and hated Trump’s guts.””

“Saudi Arabia said Monday two of its oil tankers were sabotaged off the coast of the United Arab Emirates in attacks that caused “significant damage” to the vessels. One of the ships was en route to pick up Saudi oil to take to the United States, a Saudi government minister said.

The announcement by the kingdom’s energy minister, Khalid al-Falih, came on the heels of a new warning to sailors in the region from the U.S. While no blame was cast at Iran or any other nation for the alleged attack on the ships, it fuelled fears that a miscommunication or small act of antagonism in the politically charged region could quickly escalate into a full conflict.

Late last week the U.S. Maritime Administration warned commercial shipping companies that from the beginning of May there had been, “an increased possibility that Iran and/or its regional proxies could take action against U.S. and partner interests, including oil production infrastructure, after recently threatening to close the Strait of Hormuz. Iran or its proxies could respond by targeting commercial vessels, including oil tankers, or U.S. military vessels in the Red Sea, Bab-el-Mandeb Strait, or the Persian Gulf.””

  4. Everyone wonders what the heck is happening with all the anti-Semitism going on in the Democrat party. But it’s not shocking really, now that Dem leadership has embraced it too. Embraced it, condoned it, and of course, coming to the defense of their radical members and slandering anyone who points out their anti-Semitic members. I’m only surprised it took them this long to come out of the anti-Semite closet.

And once again Nancy flat out lies, and the press doesn’t call her on it.

“Top House Democrats have defended Democratic Michigan Rep. Rashida Tlaib Monday.

House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer claimed Tlaib is owed an apology after members of the GOP criticized her for comments she made about the Holocaust over the weekend.

“If you read Rep. Tlaib’s comments, it is clear that President Trump and Congressional Republicans are taking them out of context,” Hoyer said, according to The Hill. “They must stop, and they owe her an apology.”

Speaker Pelosi echoed Hoyer’s sentiment on Twitter Monday afternoon.”

    “She stated:

There’s always kind of a calming feeling I tell folks when I think of the Holocaust, and the tragedy of the Holocaust, and the fact that it was my ancestors, Palestinians — who lost their land, and some lost their lives their livelihood, their human dignity, their existence in many ways — have been wiped out, and some people’s passports. And just all of it was in the name of trying to create a safe haven for Jews, post-the Holocaust, post-the tragedy and the horrific persecution of Jews across the world at that time. I love the fact that it was my ancestors that provided that, right? In many ways. But they did it in a way that took their human dignity away and it was forced on them.

The accuracy of Tlaib’s comments — or lack thereof — specifically in regard to Arabs providing a “safe haven” for Jews led to criticism.”

She lied, and Pelosi and company are as well. And once again….. the press doesn’t call them on it. It’s almost like there’s a pattern.

“It was only a few weeks ago that State Rep. Brian Sims was harassing teens on the street in defense of Planned Parenthood. When he got some initial blowback to his behavior online his response was “bring it on, Bible Bullies!” Here’s a screencap:”

“A couple of days later Sims issues a pathetic non-apology for his behavior. And a couple of days after that he was invited to a pro-life rally in front of the same Planned Parenthood clinic where he’d filmed his videos trying to dox and harass teens and an elderly woman. Sims never did show up at the rally. Now he seems to be in hiding. He hadn’t tweeted for several days before making his entire account private. The photo above shows how it looks now.”

  6. Parenting is hard enough without all the extra nonsense.

    https://nypost.com/2019/05/11/this-is-what-mothers-hate-more-than-anything-right-now/

“Every time I talk to my girlfriend Mary, we marvel over how much more work she’s expected to do for her kids’ education.

Between holding down a full-time job and being a single parent, she receives constant reminders about different events her daughter’s school is holding: crazy-hat day, a spring social, a bake sale, teacher-appreciation week, which requires a different gift every day and culminates in a final day of brunch. The list goes on, and now that we’ve reached the end of the school year, it’s only getting worse.

Megan, a mother in Arizona, told me, “May is always the most insane month of the year for us, almost as bad as Christmas. [We have] parent/teacher conferences, end of the year field trips, the science fair, birthdays, you name it. We have crazy clothes day, crazy-hair day, PJ day and water-fun day. Each one requires a lot of work in this Pinterest age where it’s not enough to just throw a ball cap on them or some funny Walmart hat.”

It’s not just the holidays and end of the year that have my friends stressing; it’s all year round. Smack in the middle of February, a New Jersey friend posted a picture of her kids dressed up as centenarians in honor of the 100th day of their school, while another pal in Los Angeles posted a picture of her three kids, each dressed as a different character for Dr. Seuss Day.

According to a study of educated parents worldwide, moms and dads are spending twice as much time parenting their children as they did 50 years ago, long before most households were manned by two working parents instead of one. (And, unsurprisingly, most of the parenting burden falls on women’s shoulders although men are increasingly stepping up.)

In a lot of ways, we’re doing it to ourselves. We’ve turned parenting into a far more time-consuming endeavor than it ever was or should have become. Mothers have become cruise directors, setting kids up with an endless stream of after-school activities. And when everyone is stuck at home together, we’re expected to provide entertainment throughout the day: crafts or, when things become desperate, a screen diversion.

And on top of these self-set expectations, outsiders are increasingly demanding more from mothers’ already overloaded schedules. The expectation isn’t just for parents’ time but their pocketbooks as well.”

Problem is: All the men are moving to SC and ‘Bama.

  8. A reminder.

    https://thefederalist.com/2019/05/13/rashida-tlaibs-lies-remind-us-why-israel-must-exist/

“Rashida Tlaib’s Lies Remind Us Why Israel Must Exist

The Palestinian tragedy is self-perpetuating, led by those unable to come to terms with history.”

During a recent SkullDuggery Podcast on Yahoo!, Rep Rashida Tlaib dropped a few historically illiterate thoughts on the Holocaust and Israel. None of it was especially surprising to anyone who’s followed far-left or Palestinian rhetoric for any amount of time.

For Tlaib, the Holocaust was primarily a tragedy for the Palestinian people, who were unable to repel Jews’ immigration and stop the formation of a Jewish state. Her words are a helpful reminder of not only why Israel exists, but also that the tragedy of the Palestinian people is neither the fault of the Jews, nor the British, nor the Holocaust.”

    https://www.foxnews.com/politics/rashida-tlaib-hits-critics-over-holocaust-remarks-maybe-i-should-speak-at-a-4th-grade-level-to-racist-idiots

“Tlaib began by explaining to “Late Night” host Seth Meyers that her grandmother lives in the West Bank, which she referred to as “the occupied territories of Palestine” and how many of her ancestors “died” or “gave up their livelihood” to provide that safe haven for Jews, which she wanted to “recognize and honor.”

“I want all of us to feel safe. All of us deserve human dignity, no matter our backgrounds, no matter our ethnicity, no matter even our political opinions, we all deserve that kind of equality and justice. And, you know, for me, I wanted to uplift that and bring that to light and it was unfortunate,” Tlaib explained. “You know, I got a text from a friend who’s like, ‘Hey, next time, you know, really clarify. Maybe talk like a fourth grader because maybe the racist idiots would understand you better.'”

This is also a lie. Israel hasn’t “occupied” the West Bank since 1995.

  10. Liar. And one who doesn’t even know her own history. She’s pathetic using Grandma as a political prop to bash the Jews as well.

    https://www.algemeiner.com/2019/03/22/rashida-tlaib-lies-about-her-grandmother-so-she-can-blame-israel/

“Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) has a lot of “firsts” to her credit. She is the first Palestinian Arab elected to the US Congress. She is one of the first two Muslim women to be elected to Congress. And now she is the first member of Congress to make a fraudulent claim about her own grandmother in order to score points against Israel.”

“Appearing on CNN’s “State of the Union with Jake Tapper” on March 17, Tlaib was asked about her claims that “racism” and “Islamophobia” were the real motives behind the widespread criticism of the recent antisemitic remarks by Congresswoman Ilhan Omar (D-MN).

Rep. Tlaib responded to Tapper that both she and Omar were “an easier target” because they are “very vocal against human-rights violations, especially in the country of Israel … we are coming from a place of personal experiences, as being people of color, with my living grandmother in the West Bank in the occupied territories, that we want to be heard and we want to be seen.”

Notice the crucial role that her grandmother plays in the congresswoman’s argument. Tlaib knows that if she is perceived as just another Israel-basher, her attack on alleged Israeli “human-rights violations” would carry no weight. So she has to prove that she has some special insight or connection — something that gives her claims credibility. That’s where grandma comes in.

Rep. Tlaib wants to make it clear that she is not just some garden-variety Israel-hater. No, she is “coming from a place of personal experiences.” Well, that’s different. She has a personal case against Israel. Now, keep in mind that Ms. Tlaib was born and raised in Detroit. Residents of the Motor City don’t have too many “personal experiences” involving Israeli policies.

So Tlaib has stretched the meaning of the term “personal experiences” in order to build her case against Israel. She means that she has a grandmother who has “personal experiences.” Somehow, that transfers to Tlaib herself.

Tlaib understands the power of grievance rhetoric. Once she says, “my living grandmother [is] in the West Bank in the occupied territories,” that changes the whole dynamic of the debate. In fact, it’s a “two-fer”: Her own grandmother is an “occupied,” persecuted person, which gives Tlaib standing; plus, it’s her “living grandmother,” so she’s a real live eyewitness, which presumably gives Tlaib’s assertions even more validity.

Except that Congresswoman Tlaib is lying.

Grandma Tlaib is a resident of the Palestinian Arab village of Beit Ur al-Fauqa. The Israeli occupation of that village ended in 1995. It has been governed by the Palestinian Authority (PA), not Israel, for the past 24 years. For the congresswoman to claim that her grandmother is “occupied” by the Israelis — and therefore a victim of persecution and an eyewitness to Israeli “human rights violations” — is simply a lie.”

“Former South Carolina Rep. Trey Gowdy offered up a tip Monday night for congressional investigators probing the Obama administration’s handling of the Trump-Russia investigation.

“So whoever’s investigating this, tell them to look for emails between Brennan and Comey in December 2016,” Gowdy said in an interview with Fox News’ Sean Hannity, referring to former CIA Director John Brennan and former FBI Director James Comey.

In the interview, Gowdy did not say whether he has knowledge of what is in any Brennan-Gowdy emails. But Gowdy also suggested that the FBI deemed Christopher Steele, the author of the infamous anti-Trump dossier, as a less-than-credible source.

Steele, a former British spy, served as a confidential human source for the FBI. He provided the FBI with parts of his dossier, which the FBI then used to obtain surveillance warrants against Carter Page.

“I think you’ll be surprised at whether or not they viewed Steele as being credible,” said Gowdy, who served on the House Intelligence Committee and is now a Fox News contributor.”

  13. So HRW, show me an example of the Trump’s pulling things like this, if they’re all doing the same kinda stuff, as you allege. And don’t say Russia, that whole fiasco has been debunked. If they’re selling out American interests to foreign powers like the Bidens, it should be easy enough to demonstrate some examples. Like these.

    https://nypost.com/2019/05/11/the-troubling-reason-why-biden-is-so-soft-on-china/

“Troublingly, some of those investments had major implications for national security.

In December 2014, BHR became an “anchor investor” in the IPO of China General Nuclear Power Corp. (CGN), a state-owned energy company involved in the construction of nuclear reactors. In April 2016, the US Justice Department would charge CGN with stealing nuclear secrets from the United States — actions prosecutors said could cause “significant damage to our national security.”

Of particular interest to CGN were sensitive, American-made components that, according to experts, resembled components used by the US on its nuclear submarines.

That Hunter Biden had no experience in China, and little in private equity, didn’t dissuade the Chinese government from giving his company a business opportunity in place of established global financial brands like Morgan Stanley or Goldman Sachs. In fact, the Chinese government wasn’t done funding deals with Hunter Biden.

Also in December 2014, a Chinese state-backed conglomerate called Gemini Investments Limited was negotiating and sealing deals with Hunter Biden’s Rosemont on several fronts. That month, it made a $34 million investment into a fund managed by Rosemont.

The following August, Rosemont Realty, another sister company of Rosemont Seneca, announced that Gemini Investments was buying a 75 percent stake in the company. The terms of the deal included a $3 billion commitment from the Chinese, who were eager to purchase new US properties. Shortly after the sale, Rosemont Realty was rechristened Gemini Rosemont.

    Chinese executives lauded the deal.

“Rosemont, with its comprehensive real-estate platform and superior performance history, was precisely the investment opportunity Gemini Investments was looking for in order to invest in the US real estate market,” declared Li Ming, Sino-Ocean Land Holdings Limited and Gemini Investments chairman. “We look forward to a strong and successful partnership.”

The plan was to use Chinese money to acquire more properties in the United States. “We see great opportunities to continue acquiring high-quality real estate in the US market,” one company executive said. “The possibilities for this venture are tremendous.”

  14. That piece is quite long, and also deals with the Bidens underhanded escapades in Ukraine as well.

“The Biden-Bank of China fact-pattern is arresting in its bravura and scale. Moreover, it turns out that the Biden dealings didn’t just take place in China, but in Ukraine, as well.

Consider the facts. On April 16, 2014, White House records show that Devon Archer, Hunter Biden’s business partner in the Rosemont Seneca deals, made a private visit to the White House for a meeting with Vice President Biden. Five days later, on April 21, Joe Biden landed in Kiev for a series of high-level meetings with Ukrainian officials. The vice president was bringing with him highly welcomed terms of a United States Agency for International Development program to assist the Ukrainian natural-gas industry and promises of more US financial assistance and loans. Soon the United States and the International Monetary Fund would be pumping more than $1 billion into the Ukrainian economy.”
