Prayer Requests 5-13-19

Anyone have something to share?

Psalm 100

Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth.
2 Worship the Lord with gladness;
    come before him with joyful songs.
Know that the Lord is God.
    It is he who made us, and we are his;
    we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.

Enter his gates with thanksgiving
    and his courts with praise;
    give thanks to him and praise his name.
For the Lord is good and his love endures forever;
    his faithfulness continues through all generations.

  1. I came across this in my reading, and thought to make it the thought for today.

    2 Corinthians
    5 1 For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

    2 For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven:

  2. The Shugni-speaking people live in the Pamir region of Tajikistan, in a cul-de-sac of inhospitable mountains and valleys. They are an oppressed minority people group. There are few work opportunities with much hopelessness, corruption, addiction and abuse. There are less than ten known believers living in the Shugnon region and less than 100 living in Dushanbe, Tajikistan’s capital. They do not yet have the Scripture in their heart language.

    The Shugni are Shiia Muslims of the Ismaeli sect following a spiritual leader, the Aga Khan, who teaches that all religions are the same, all ways lead to God, and that they already have someone who can forgive them for their sins. They have a veil over their hearts and eyes.

    Please pray…
    Pray that the veil be removed and they realise that the Aga Khan, their Imam, is a sinful man too, unable to forgive them for their sins.
    Pray for funding for development projects in the areas of health and agriculture which are seeing God’s Kingdom come as people are empowered and equipped to provide for their families and recognize the worth that they have.
    For the Scripture to be translated quickly and correctly in to their language (work is underway).

  3. The country to pray for on the 30 days of prayer is the United Arab Emirates (UAE). A federation of seven emirates, whose royal heads form the ruling council, the UAE is most famous for its oil wealth, which has produced rapid modernization, with the city of Dubai being almost legendary for the hedonistic pleasures available. Many millionaires from other surrounding countries move to the UAE just for the amenities. The population of the UAE is 9.2 million, with only 1.4 million of those being citizens. The rest are expatriates, mostly laborers hired to work for the Emiratis and wealth expatriates, from around the world. “It is hard for a rich man,” said Jesus, “to enter into the kingdom of heaven” and the wealth of the UAE is enormous. Before the oil fields of the UAE were developed, the main industry of this strip of land on the Persian Gulf was pearl diving. “The kingdom of heaven,” Jesus said, “is like a merchant seeking flawless pearls, and when he had found one pearl of great price, he sold all his goods to purchase it.” Pray that the desire for such a priceless jewel would stir the hearts of the Emiratis and that the expatriate laborers who follow Christ would be able, like Namaan’s servant girl or Daniel, be able to share the truth with their employers.
