  1. No emergency?

    Depends who you ask.

    https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6778273/Kirstjen-Nielsen-says-recycling-rings-let-illegals-reuse-children-jump-border-repeatedly.html

“DHS secretary says so many migrants are raped on the way to the U.S. that ICE gives EVERY girl 10 and older a pregnancy test – and ‘recycling rings’ let illegals reuse children over and over to jump the border

DHS secretary faces first U.S. House grilling with Democrats in charge

Claims her agency has uncovered ‘recycling rings’ that let trafficked adults reuse the same children over and over again to pose as family units

Nielsen also says rape is so common among migrant caravans that every girl over age 10 who enters the U.S. without papers is given a pregnancy test

Democratic chairman calls Trump’s declared emergency ‘non-existent’

White House press secretary blasts him on Twitter during hearing”

“Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen said Wednesday that young female migrants traveling north to the United States are raped with such regularity that Immigration and Customs Enforcement gives every girl age 10 and over a pregnancy test after arriving.

‘Very unfortunately, because of the increase in violence, at ICE, when we have families with children, we have to give every girl a pregnancy test over 10. This is not a safe journey,’ Nielsen told the House Homeland Security Committee.

Doctors Without Borders reported in 2017 that ‘68.3 percent of the migrant and refugee populations entering Mexico’ from Central America ‘reported being victims of violence during their transit toward the United States.’

And ‘[n]early one-third of the women surveyed had been sexually abused during their journey,’ the group concluded.”

  2. And no sign of it letting up until we close the door.

    https://legalinsurrection.com/2019/03/more-than-76000-illegal-immigrants-crossed-the-southern-border-last-month/

“More than twice the number that crossed the same time last year. And according to immigration officials, the situation is only going to get worse.

    From the New York Post:

Why are they coming in such vast numbers? Because smugglers have put them wise to how to take advantage of recent court decisions to claim asylum and remain here indefinitely.

They’re coming (mainly from Guatemala) in ever-larger groups, mostly families as opposed to individuals. They’ve been told that if they cross the border illegally, they only need cry “asylum.” And adults traveling with children have a better chance to stay.

Trump wants a wall to prevent that “one foot on American soil” rule. But what’s really needed is a change to our perverse asylum rules — which will take both political cooperation and compromise.

Consider: Officials say the biggest “pull factors” for migrant families are court settlements that not only bar deportations without lengthy proceedings, but also prevent the detainment of families for more than 20 days.

The Trump administration attempted to reinforce existing asylum regulations while closing oft-exploited loop holes. Democrats their media counterparts balked at the efforts. The ACLU even filed suit.”

  3. Dems say no debates on Fox because of their bias for the President.

President counters with no debates for the Fake News networks, which is pretty much everyone else. 🙂

    https://dailycaller.com/2019/03/06/dnc-tom-perez-fox-news-debates/

“The Democratic National Committee announced Wednesday that they are not allowing Fox News to host any Democratic presidential debates this election cycle, citing the network’s alleged “inappropriate relationship” with President Donald Trump.

DNC Chair Tom Perez released a statement indicating that he wants the Democratic message to reach as many voters as possible, but also claiming that Fox is “not in a position to host a fair and neutral debate.”

“I believe that a key pathway to victory is to continue to expand our electorate and reach all voters. That is why I have made it a priority to talk to a broad array of potential media partners, including Fox News. Recent reporting in the New Yorker on the inappropriate relationship between President Trump, his administration and Fox News has led me to conclude that the network is not in a position to host a fair and neutral debate for our candidates. Therefore, Fox News will not serve as a media partner for the 2020 Democratic primary debates.””

“What Perez didn’t anticipate, however, was how President Donald Trump would react to the news. Trump took to Twitter to remind Perez of one thing: in order for a general election debate to take place, the president has to be on stage. And he’s refusing to cooperate as long as Fox News is left out of the picture:”

  4. The Girl Scouts, like the Democrat party, has fully embraced abortion, which isn’t surprising since they too are beneficiaries of PP’s blood money.

    https://www.dailywire.com/news/44329/girl-scouts-gives-highest-award-girl-who-organized-paul-bois

“Girl Scouts Gives Highest Award To Girl Who Organized A Pro-Abortion Campaign
    “De-stigmatize access to women’s healthcare”

“Though the organization’s ties to abortion conglomerate Planned Parenthood have been known for years, the Girl Scouts of America have yet to be so forthright about their closeted support for abortion.

    Until now.

According to LifeNews, the group MyGirlScoutCouncil.com, which has been monitoring the organization for years over its pro-abortion stance, discovered last Friday that the Girl Scouts of Southern Arizona honored a girl for her volunteer work on “reproductive health justice.”

“Meghna Gopalan, recently profiled in a Tucson publication, received the Gold Award, the Girl Scouts highest honor, for her work,” reports LifeNews. “Her project involved working with the pro-abortion Women’s March and its affiliate in Tucson. She said her goal was to ‘educate people about and destigmatize access to women’s healthcare’ — euphemisms for abortion.”

“I’m planning on hosting an event to educate people about and de-stigmatize access to women’s healthcare,” Meghan Gopalan said. “I’ve been working with El Rio Reproductive Health Access Project, and they offered ideas on reproductive health justice which would broaden the scope of the project a little bit. I got interested in the topic with the Supreme Court nomination of [Brett] Kavanaugh …”

Christy Volanski, co-editor of MyGirlScoutCouncil.com, said the Girl Scouts have a “cozy relationship” with the abortion industry. Former Girl Scouts CEO Kathy Cloninger even once admitted on NBC: “We partner with many organizations. We have relationships with … Planned Parenthood organizations across the country.””

  5. Praise for Trump from Danny Burch.

    https://dailycaller.com/2019/03/06/danny-burch-yemen-oval-office/

“Danny Burch, a U.S. citizen taken hostage in Yemen, celebrated his return to the United States on Wednesday by visiting President Donald Trump in the Oval Office.

Trump announced in late February that he secured the release of Burch, who was held hostage in Yemen for 18 months. Burch’s Yemeni wife claimed he was kidnapped in “broad daylight” in 2017 after dropping his children off at a school event.”

  6. And he makes a nice gesture to a dying man and his family.

    https://www.yahoo.com/news/mans-dying-wish-fulfilled-call-donald-trumps-son-204049781.html?.tsrc=fauxdal

“A terminally ill Connecticut man who’s a big supporter of President Donald Trump is getting a bucket list wish fulfilled, with help from his Democratic sister.

Jay Barrett, of West Haven, who has cystic fibrosis, left the hospital to begin palliative care at his sister’s home last weekend and asked for some sort of contact with the president before he dies.

His sister, West Haven City Councilwoman Bridgette Hoskie, who describes herself as “100 percent Democrat,” went on social media to help make it happen. Friends and other supporters sent emails to the White House.

The efforts paid off Tuesday night when Barrett, 44, received a call from Trump.

“Mr. President, through thick and thin, you know there’s been a lot of thicks, and there’s been a lot of thins, I support you,” Barrett said.

Trump told Barrett he’s a “champ,” and that a personal letter is coming his way.

“You’re my kind of man, Jay. … I’m very proud of you,” Trump said. “I’ll talk to you again, Jay, OK? You keep that fight going. “

  7. AJ – Yesterday you rejected what I shared because it came from Wikipedia. But the part I quoted came from the US Citizenship and Immigration Services.

    https://www.uscis.gov/archive/consideration-deferred-action-childhood-arrivals-daca

Did you see my last comment from last night? I said that it sounds like it is a case of the requirements being ignored, which is a shame. It is always the ones who abuse or game a system that ruin it for the ones who play by the rules. In this case, it also sounds like enforcement is not being done.

  8. AJ – You had mentioned Wikipedia’s liberal bent. This comment is not directed at you, but in a general way.

Quite frankly, I get frustrated, and a little annoyed, at the comments I see (usually on Facebook) by people outright rejecting an article because its source is not aligned with the commenter’s politics. Either they reject the information in the article for that reason or they won’t even read the article because of its source. No wonder we are so polarized.

(I’ve even read someone claim to read various sources in order to be well-informed then turn around and refuse to consider or read a piece because the source did not align with their political views.)

Granted, there are some sources that are strongly biased and known for twisting facts or ignoring pertinent information. But sometimes even those sources can make a pertinent point at times. (Even so, I avoid the ones with particularly egregious reputations, unless I was unaware of that reputation, as has happened a time or two.)

But in general, liberal sources can have information or opinions that conservatives would be well-served to consider, and vice versa. And the same goes for libertarian-leaning sources for those on either the left and right.

Because there are certain facts or views that sources from one side tend to focus on, and other facts and views that the other side tends to focus on, folks who stick to the sources already aligned with their political perspective are missing pieces that could more thoroughly inform them, maybe even change their mind, or at least cause them to modify their views. It is even possible to read an article that you disagree with almost 100%, but come across a nugget of truth that is worth considering. Unfortunately, most will reject that nugget because of the rest of the article.

Okay, my rant is over. Even as I was writing this, I was thinking I should post this on Facebook, too. 🙂

  9. In my opinion, selective enforcement is a political tool. Sanctuary cities are not enforcing the law for a reason—a political reason. It has little to do with gaming the system. It’s thumbing your nose at it. :–/

  10. Yes Kizzie I saw it.

And yes, they’re ignoring their own rules, because liberal courts have forced them too. What good is rules and the law if no one follows it?

And my problem with Wiki is more than just a sourcing thing. I read and post lots of stuff from liberal sources. I can deal with that. What I can’t deal with is a format like Wiki where even if you post truth, the liberals who run it overrule you and the next liberal to come along “updates” with their bias and truth is no longer relevant and nowhere in what Wiki has to say on a matter.

It’s horribly flawed and useless, unless you want stuff they can’t editorialize, like who was in a particular movie or tv series. That’s about the only thing from Wiki I’d trust as accurate.

    https://www.conservapedia.com/Examples_of_Bias_in_Wikipedia

“This list covers a wide range of bias in the English Wikipedia website. Although Wikipedia claims to have credibility because anyone can edit it, in fact the website represents the viewpoint of its most strident and persistent editors. On Christmas Day 2016 (NYC time), Wikipedia’s entry for U.S. Court of Appeals Judge Maryanne Trump Barry prominently and falsely declared: “Her younger brother is loan shark and liar Donald Trump,”[1] something which remained for an unusually-long forty-eight minutes before it was corrected.[2]

Wikipedia is also heavily influenced by paid public relations professionals who do not disclose their conflicts of interest. This list together with the sublists linked below provide a wide variety of examples of the resulting bias.”

“List of examples of liberal bias in Wikipedia

Below is a growing list of around 300 examples of liberal bias, deceit, edits stemming from corrupting conflicts of interest, frivolous gossip, and blatant errors on Wikipedia. The atheist Jimmy Wales was a lead founder of Wikipedia. Christian apologist JP Holding called Wikipedia “the abomination that causes misinformation”.[7] Because the list of examples is so long, it is divided into sublists based on subject matter. Some of the most egregious examples are in these sublists, which are well worth reading. At risk of duplication, some of the most interesting examples from the sublists are also repeated on this main list to give an overview. (We limit this main list to up to three examples from each sublist.)”

  12. So according to CNN, Trump needs to be more like Obama in sharing info with the witch hunters in the House.

    Fair enough.

So they get nothing until a court orders it, just like with Obama. CNN stepped on a rake here. 🙂

    https://twitchy.com/gregp-3534/2019/03/06/cnns-fact-check-of-trump-finds-he-should-rebuff-congress-for-years-and-only-provide-docs-if-ordered-to-do-so-by-a-court/

“CNN’s fact check of Trump finds he should rebuff Congress for years and only provide docs if ordered to do so by a court”

“In the Oval Office yesterday, President Trump told reporters he is hesitant to cooperate with House probes because when Barack Obama was president, he, too, did not cooperate with Republican-led requests for documents:”

“And CNN’s fact check says this isn’t true because Obama did eventually give Republicans documents and it doesn’t matter that compliance happened years later or after a court (emphasis ours):

Facts First: Though Trump is vague about what exactly he’s referring to, it’s untrue to say that the Obama administration refused to comply with congressional requests for information. There were a handful of occasions where the Obama administration initially rebuffed extensive congressional document requests, but ultimately complied, either voluntarily or under court order.

Cool. Cool. President Trump should partially comply as well. Under this timetable, House Dems should get the docs in 2021. But only after the House holds someone in contempt and a court orders the president to do so:

During the Fast and Furious botched weapons sting investigation, Republicans on the House Oversight Committee in 2012 recommended that then-Attorney General Eric Holder be cited for contempt of Congress for failing to turn over requested documents. They made the recommendation after Obama asserted executive privilege over some documents sought by the committee.

But two years later, under court order, the Obama Justice Department did turn over nearly 65,000 pages of Fast and Furious-related documents.

Trump can send more documents over in 2023 if he wants:”

  15. AJ – Yeah, I know that there are problems with Wikipedia. I should have followed down to the source in the first place, but it was getting late (for me) and I thought that part I quoted was pretty straight forward (and it turned out to be right from a governmental source after all).

As for my comment about sources, that wasn’t directed at you, but your brief mention of Wikipedia being liberal was a jumping off point, spurring me to write something that has been on my mind for a while. Perhaps it is more fitting for Facebook.
