  1. The corruption is strong with these two, just like their bigotry.

First AOC……. Being your socialist overlord (and getting away with it) is harder than it looks.

“AOC’s chief of staff ran $1M slush fund by diverting campaign cash to his own companies”

“Two political action committees founded by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s top aide funneled over $1 million in political donations into two of his own private companies, according to a complaint filed with the Federal Election Commission on Monday.

The cash transfers from the PACs — overseen by Saikat Chakrabarti, the freshman socialist Democrat’s chief of staff — run counter to her pledges to increase transparency and reduce the influence of “dark money” in politics.

Chakrabarti’s companies appear to have been set up for the sole purpose of obscuring how the political donations were used.

The arrangement skirted reporting requirements and may have violated the $5,000 limit on contributions from federal PACs to candidates, according to the complaint filed by the National Legal and Policy Center, a government watchdog group.

Campaign finance attorneys described the arrangement as “really weird” and an indication “there’s something amiss.” They said there was no way of telling where the political donations went — meaning they could have been pocketed or used by the company to pay for off-the-books campaign operations.”

“Rashida Tlaib paid herself $17,500 from campaign funds after the election in possible FEC violation”

“The newly elected firebrand Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., could be in hot water after Federal Election Commission filings show she paid herself thousands of dollars in salary from her successful midterm campaign.

The filing shows the Michigan lawmaker taking more than $17,000 in two disbursements as a salary nearly a month after the conclusion of the 2018 midterm elections.

A candidate can only draw a salary from the official campaign for the duration of their candidacy. The FEC specifies that a candidate no longer qualifies for salary payments from the day after the general election. The two salary disbursements were made on Nov. 16 for $2,000 and on Dec. 1 for $15,500.”

  3. Due to the traitors in the Senate Trump will be vetoing their attempts to undermine his efforts. And they don’t have near the votes necessary to override it. 🙂

    https://www.businessinsider.com/senate-reject-national-emergency-declaration-trump-promises-veto-2019-3

“Enough Republican senators have announced they would support a resolution to terminate President Trump’s national emergency declaration to build a wall along the US-Mexico border.

The House already passed the resolution with unanimous Democratic support, as well as 13 Republicans.

The White House announced they will veto any attempts to terminate the emergency declaration.”

“The Senate is poised to pass a resolution terminating President Donald Trump’s use of emergency powers to reprogram federal funds to build additional physical barriers along the United States border with Mexico, after a handful of Republicans announced they would back the Democrat-led legislation.”

Trump would ultimately veto the resolution as it lacks a strong enough majority.”

    http://thefederalist.com/2019/03/05/illinois-fast-tracks-abortion-legislation-extreme-wont-believe/

“The leftist caucus of the Illinois General Assembly looked at New York and West Virginia and said, “Hold my beer.” As a result, a bill being called the Reproductive Health Act and another piece of legislation that repeals the Parental Notice of Abortion Act have been filed and are making their way through the legislative process.

The Reproductive Health Act exists as two identical measures in the House and Senate. House Bill 2495 has a hearing with the Human Services Committee at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday. The Senate Bill 1942 has not yet been assigned to a substantive committee. The two bills repealing the Parental Notice of Abortion Act are House Bill 2467 (which will be heard at the same committee meeting as House Bill 2495) and Senate Bill 1594.

What These Bills Plan to Do
The Reproductive Health Act is 118 pages long and presents so many positions that are problematic for people who are either pro-life or pro-liberty, it is difficult to summarize them all succinctly. The main thrust of the bill can be summed up in this one-liner: “A fertilized egg, embryo, or fetus does not have independent rights under the laws of this State.”

To that end, the bill allows physician assistants to perform abortions and eliminates restrictions on where the procedure can occur. Further, the legislation repeals several provisions of the statutes that give legal protections for health care workers and providers who refuse to take part in or perform abortion procedures. Like the New York law, this would allow for abortion up to and during birth and decriminalize the murder of an unborn child (through, say, physical abuse of the child’s pregnant mother).

The state is prohibited from intruding in a woman’s “reproductive health care decision-making” and creates an avenue for a woman to bring a lawsuit should she feel this right was violated. Local governments may write ordinances expanding abortion access, but may not weaken access to abortion. The proposal also waters down the reporting requirements for abortions and exempts reports from Illinois’ Freedom of Information law.

The Reproductive Health Act is so encompassing in its own right, an argument can be made that also passing the bill repealing the Parental Notice of Abortion Act is overkill. Under the first measure, a child could sue her doctor for insisting on following the Parental Notice of Abortion Act and providing notice of the procedure to her parents.”

“Hillsong Pastor Carl Lentz Provides Moral Cover For Abortion On ‘The View’”

“Last Monday, around 1:20 p.m. EST, hundreds of babies were being surgically dismembered, decapitated, poisoned, and otherwise violently killed inside abortion clinics around the country. Simultaneously, Hillsong Church NYC mega-pastor Carl Lentz had a platform from which to speak in their defense while a guest on “The View.” He refused to do so. In fact, he took the opportunity to suggest that their deaths can in some cases be justified and that the people killing them should continue living according to their own convictions.

When host Joy Behar asked directly whether abortion is sinful, he responded, “That’s the kind of conversation we would have finding out your story, where you’re from, what you believe. I mean, God’s the judge,” at which point the audience broke into raucous applause. “People have to live to their own convictions,” Lentz continued. “That’s such a broad question, to me, I’m going higher. I want to sit with somebody and say, ‘What do you believe?’”

“This position might be received as a moderate stance on the issue or a lack of stance altogether. But in this case, to be on the fence is to be on the side of child sacrifice. “Live to your own convictions” is practically the slogan of the abortion lobby. Lentz might as well have said “My body, my choice,” or “Keep your rosaries off my ovaries.”

Creating Ambiguity Where Scripture Offers None
“So it’s not an open and shut case to you?” Behar asked. “Some people would say it is,” Lentz responded. “To me, I’m trying to teach people who Jesus is first, and find out their story. Before I start picking and choosing what I think is sin in your life, I’d like to know your name.”

This is a fantastic answer to the question of whether Calvinism or Arminianism is the more accurate interpretation of scripture. In reference to the biblical acceptability of child sacrifice, not so much. Scripture is unanimous and unambiguous in its condemnation of intentionally killing an image-bearer of God. There is no intellectually serious case to be made otherwise.”

  7. Makes sense.

    http://thefederalist.com/2019/03/01/new-research-women-earn-less-not-sexism-prefer-raise-kids/

“New Research: Women Earn Less Not Because Of Sexism, But Because They Prefer To Raise Their Own Kids

The research overwhelmingly suggests the sexes’ earnings gap is mostly not caused by sexism. It’s not an unequal pay for equal work issue, it’s largely that women do different work.”

“What causes the earnings gap between men and women? If you listen to progressives, the answer is pretty clear: it’s sexism. It’s the privilege of powerful (white!) males. It’s men exhibiting prejudice against women in the workplace.

Yes, discrimination and workplace bias against women absolutely exist. Thousands of legal cases of people, usually women, being treated worse at work on account of their sex are heard every year.

Yet new research adds to the overwhelming body of research that suggests the sexes’ earnings gap is mostly not caused by discrimination or sexism. It’s not an unequal pay for equal work issue, it’s largely that women do different work.

The Earnings Gap Is Largely Driven by Culture
The new research looks at what happens to women’s earnings after they have a baby, compared to various benchmarks (spousal income before and after baby, similarly situated women who don’t have a baby: the method used finds similar effects regardless of the baseline measured against). What it finds is striking.

Having a baby massively lowers earnings for women in every country where it’s been studied. Even countries with very generous welfare systems like Denmark or Germany have much lower maternal earnings. Strikingly, the correlation between how generously a country supports moms and maternity leave tells you very little about the maternal earnings gap: low-maternity-leave America has a smaller baby earnings penalty than much-more-generous Austria or Germany.

So what explains this gap? Well, it turns out that it’s mostly driven not by changes in wages or hours worked, although there are effects there, but by changes in the odds that a woman works at all. That is to say, this isn’t mostly about mommy-track jobs, or unequal pay for equal work. It’s about stay-at-home-moms.

The authors estimate the penalty to labor-force participation similarly to their estimates of earnings. They find changes in labor force participation account for a majority of the change in women’s earnings in every country except Sweden. In the United States and United Kingdom., changes in employment account for more than 100 percent of changes in women’s earnings, meaning that, apparently, moms who do return to work actually earn more than non-moms.”

“In a dusty lot along the U.S.-Mexico border fence, a single Border Patrol agent was stuck with few options and falling temperatures.

A group of 64 parents and children had waded through a shallow bend in the Rio Grande to turn themselves in to the agent on the U.S. side. He radioed for a van driver, but there were none available. By 2 a.m., the temperature was 44 degrees.

The agent handed out plastic space blankets. The group would have to wait.

Mothers and fathers swaddled their families in the silvery, crinkling sheets and clustered with them on the ground, shushing the children. They shivered in the cold wind, and the sound of crying carried on, like a broken alarm.

Groups like this arrived again and again in February, one of the coldest and busiest months along the southern border in years. U.S. authorities detained more than 70,000 migrants last month, according to preliminary figures, up from 58,000 in January. The majority were Central American parents with children who arrived, again, in unprecedented numbers.

During a month when the border debate was dominated by the fight over President Trump’s push for a wall, unauthorized migration in fiscal 2019 is on pace to reach its highest level in a decade. Department of Homeland Security officials say they expect the influx to swell in March and April, months that historically see large increases in illegal crossings as U.S. seasonal labor demand rises.”

The number of migrants taken into custody last year jumped 39 percent from February to March, and a similar increase this month would push levels to 100,000 detentions or more.

It was a surge in the border numbers in March 2018 that infuriated President Trump and launched his administration’s attempt to deter families by separating children from their parents. Trump stopped the separations six weeks later to quell public outrage. But the controversy the policy generated — and its widely publicized reversal — is now viewed by U.S. agents as the moment that opened the floodgates of family migration even wider, worsening the problem it was meant to fix.”

Another Trump “lie” about issues at the southern border crossing turns out to be the truth.”

“Remember when the mainstream media sneered at President Trump’s claims on how people allegedly being tied up, bound, and duct-taped women at the border? These outlets included CNN and The Washington Post.

As it turns out, Trump was right. The media outlet going on the record to correct the “fact checkers” on this issue is the New York Times, the queen bee of liberal media outlets, and certainly no friend of the president’s.”
