Prayer Requests 9-15-18

Anyone have something to share?

Psalm 37:1-11

Do not fret because of those who are evil
    or be envious of those who do wrong;
for like the grass they will soon wither,
    like green plants they will soon die away.

Trust in the Lord and do good;
    dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.
Take delight in the Lord,
    and he will give you the desires of your heart.

Commit your way to the Lord;
    trust in him and he will do this:
He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn,
    your vindication like the noonday sun.

Be still before the Lord
    and wait patiently for him;
   do not fret when people succeed in their ways,
    when they carry out their wicked schemes.

Refrain from anger and turn from wrath;
    do not fret—it leads only to evil.
For those who are evil will be destroyed,
    but those who hope in the Lord will inherit the land.

10 A little while, and the wicked will be no more;
    though you look for them, they will not be found.
11 But the meek will inherit the land
    and enjoy peace and prosperity.

  1. A praise item for the prayer warriors today: Nick, our godson, is doing much better. He has had a couple of people in the nursing home he is currently in come along side of him. He is only 28, so this is certainly not what he expected of life. He needs to renew his mind through the Word, but he is over his latest crisis.

  2. Speaking at the ladies’ tea this morning at church. Unbearably tired. Pray the Holy Spirit has wiser things to say than I feel up to!

    We could use that baby. I could use some deep sleep.

    Thanks.

  3. Thank you, I need it. Spent a portion of yesterday in tears, as a dear friend died overnight of a heart attack. I am so sad for his wife and children.

  4. As Jo mentioned in the first comment, this psalm has application. I think of seventeen year old and his unwillingness to comply. Yes, he goes to church (our one requirement of him, besides being on his way by six AM) but then he hides in the bathroom with the device he is not allowed to have. Husband spoke with the librarian last week (her son is one who makes use of the “wifi room” (bathroom) during church, as does the pastor’s children. She is in charge of the library and we meet in the room adjoining the library. He asked her if she could turn off the wifi during church. She was going to try. We will see. There may be a group of disgruntled adolescents at church this morning.

  5. Wifi was on, but I noticed only our son was in desperate need of the bathroom during the sermon. The others must have been spoken to.
