  2. More bad news for the biased leaders at the FBI and DoJ. Some is out, more is coming, when they’re done obstructing of course…

    http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2018/07/06/kimberley-strassel-will-fbi-come-clean-this-week-may-soon-find-out-if-bureau-has-been-lying.html

“In the trench war between congressional Republicans and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, we have arrived at a crucial battle. A House resolution sets Friday as the deadline for the Justice Department to come clean on the beginning of its investigation into the Trump campaign. We’ll find out if the FBI has been lying to the public.

That is, if the department complies. It has flouted so many subpoenas, and played so many games with redactions and deadlines, that the entire House GOP united last week to vote for the resolution demanding submission to Congress’s requests for documents. The vote was an order but also a warning—that this is the last chance to comply, and the next step will be to hold officials in contempt. It is a measure of the stakes that even that threat doesn’t guarantee cooperation.

At issue is the FBI’s “origin story,” in which it claims its full-fledged investigation into a presidential campaign was conducted, as it were, by the book. According to this narrative, the FBI did not launch its probe until July 31, 2016, only after Australia tipped it to a conversation junior Trump aide George Papadopoulos had with Australian diplomat Alexander Downer in the spring of 2016 in London. Only after this formal commencement of a counterintelligence probe—Crossfire Hurricane—did the FBI begin to target U.S. citizens with spying, wiretapping and other tools usually reserved for foreign infiltrators. Or so the story goes.”

  3. Here’s the latest on the anti-Trump bias.

    https://www.dailywire.com/news/32728/report-fbi-agent-who-said-hed-stop-trump-pushed-ben-shapiro

“On Friday, John Solomon of The Hill reported that memos from the FBI regarding the Trump-Russia investigation contain another damning text from FBI agent Peter Strzok, the man in charge of both the Hillary Clinton email investigation and the Trump-Russia collusion investigation during the 2016 campaign. According to Solomon:

Memos the FBI is now producing to the Department of Justice (DOJ) inspector general and multiple Senate and House committees offer what sources involved in the production, review or investigation describe to me as “damning” or “troubling” evidence. They show Strzok and his counterintelligence team rushing in the fall of 2016 to find “derogatory” information from informants or a “pretext” to accelerate the probe and get a surveillance warrant on figures tied to the future president. … In one email exchange with the subject line “Crossfire FISA,” Strzok and Lisa Page discussed talking points to get then-FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe to persuade a high-ranking DOJ official to sign off on [Carter Page FISA] warrant. …“At a minimum, that keeps the hurry the F up pressure on him,” Strzok emailed Page on Oct. 14, 2016, less than four weeks before Election Day.”
    ———————

“If Solomon’s reporting is correct, it looks like Strzok decided to prioritize the Trump investigation out of political bias, with the election looming; he may have even attempted to create a “pretext” for submitting a FISA warrant request on Carter Page in order to dig up material on the Trump campaign. If so, Republicans’ long-harbored suspicions about an Obama FBI out to get Trump isn’t so far-fetched after all.”

  4. Drag them all in to answer for their crimes.

    http://dailycaller.com/2018/07/05/nunes-hearings-anti-trump/

“House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes is calling for public hearings for 15 people linked to anti-Trump opposition research efforts during the 2016 presidential campaign.

In a letter obtained by The Daily Caller News Foundation, Nunes on Thursday called on House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte and House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Trey Gowdy to hold the hearings as part of an investigation into possible government surveillance abuses.

Most of the people referred by Nunes have links to Fusion GPS, a Washington, D.C.-based outfit that commissioned the infamous Steele dossier.

Nunes wants public hearings for Fusion GPS co-founders Glenn Simpson, Tom Catan and Peter Fritsch as well as Nellie Ohr, a former Fusion GPS associate who worked on the firm’s investigation into Trump’s possible ties to Russia.

Ohr is the wife of Bruce Ohr, a Department of Justice (DOJ) official who met before and after the 2016 election with Glenn Simpson and Christopher Steele, the former British spy who wrote the dossier. Bruce Ohr was demoted from a top DOJ position after the discovery of his links to Fusion GPS.

Neil King, a former Wall Street Journal reporter, is also included on Nunes’s list. He joined Fusion GPS after leaving the Journal in December 2016. His wife is Shailagh Murray, an aide to former Vice President Joe Biden.

Nunes is also calling for testimony from two other Fusion GPS associates, Edward Baumgartner and Rinat Akhmetshin. Both worked with Fusion GPS on a project aimed at undermining the Magnitsky Act, a sanctions law vehemently opposed by the Kremlin. Some of Fusion GPS’s research for the project ended up in the hands of Russian general prosecutor Yuri Chaika.

Akhmetshin, a former Soviet military officer, also has the distinction of being a member of the Russian delegation that met with Trump campaign officials in Trump Tower in June 2016. Akhmetshin has testified before the House Intelligence Committee as well as a grand jury impaneled by Special Counsel Robert Mueller.

Akhmetshin’s link to both Fusion GPS and the Trump Tower meeting marks one of the stranger wrinkles in the Trump-Russia saga. He attended the Trump Tower meeting as part of the same anti-Magnitsky Act project that Fusion GPS was working on. The link has generated speculation that Akhmetshin provided information that ended up in the Steele dossier. But both Akhmetshin and Fusion GPS’s Glenn Simpson have claimed that Simpson was unaware of that meeting until it was reported last July.

Akhmetshin has also denied the Democrat-backed allegation that collusion occurred during the Trump Tower meeting.

Also on Nunes’s list are Marc Elias and Michael Sussmann, attorneys for Perkins Coie, the law firm that hired Fusion GPS. Perkins Coie served as general counsel to both the Clinton campaign and Democratic National Committee.

Clinton campaign manager Robby Mook was Elias’s point of contact for the dossier project. Nunes is also calling for Mook’s public testimony.

Sidney Blumenthal and Cody Shearer, two longtime Clinton insiders, are also on the list. During the campaign, they shopped around an anti-Trump report to journalists and government officials that closely mirrored the Steele dossier. Blumenthal provided the so-called Shearer memo to his longtime friend, Jonathan Winer, who then served as the Department of State’s (DOS) special envoy to Libya. Winer passed the document to Steele, whom he has known since 2009. Steele in turn gave the Shearer report to the FBI.”

  7. Did Orrin Hatch let the cat out of the bag? 🙂

    http://www.businessinsider.com/sen-orrin-hatch-gave-huge-clue-on-trumps-supreme-court-pick-2018-7

“Republican Sen. Orrin Hatch may have offered a clue about who President Donald Trump will nominate to fill the vacancy on the Supreme Court left by retiring Justice Anthony Kennedy, days ahead of the planned announcement on Monday.

In a Friday op-ed article for Deseret News, a prominent newspaper in Hatch’s home state of Utah, the longtime Republican lawmaker wrote a defense of the coming nominee amid a highly polarized and evenly split Senate.

“Too much is at stake to allow politics to corrupt the Supreme Court confirmation process,” Hatch wrote. “That’s why in the coming weeks, I will lift heaven and earth to see the president’s nominee across the finish line.”

The op-ed was notable for one reason: Hatch referred to the nominee using the pronouns “her” and “she.””

    https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/europe/consecrated-virgins-women-vatican-catholic-church-celibacy-god-jesus-a8435186.html

“The Vatican this week issued guidance on consecrated virginity in response to requests from bishops, who it said had reported “rapidly” growing interest among women in their congregations.

“Since this form of consecrated life was reintroduced in the church, there has been a real revival of the Ordo virginum [Order of Virgins],” said Archsbishop Jose Rodríguez Carballo, secretary of the Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life.

“The phenomenon appears to be very significant, not only for the number of women involved, but also for its diffusion throughout all continents, in many countries and Dioceses and in very diverse geographic areas and cultural contexts.”

The Vatican’s guidance states that women can only be admitted to consecration by a diocesan bishop and must “follow Christ [and] embrace his chaste, poor and obedient way of life”.

Consecrated women must “dedicate themselves to prayer, penance, the works of mercy and the apostolate,” it adds.”

  9. Huh. Why am I not surprised. Let’s not forget that the US has more than one method of economic leverage to make use of. Wherever the US military is, US dollars are as well. Billions in fact. A fact that can be very beneficial as a bargaining tool, even if you don’t plan to do so at present.

“After 18 months of Donald Trump’s “America First” presidency, European leaders meeting with him next week fear the United States may change its traditional course and begin to bring American troops home from the continent.

It comes as nations, especially in Eastern Europe, are lobbying the United States to increase the number of troops on the continent as they worry about combating an increasingly aggressive Russia.

Trump has talked about bringing U.S. troops home from around the globe since he was on the campaign trail espousing a strategy he dubbed “America First” but he has yet to act.

“They are scared to death,” former Defense Secretary Leon Panetta told McClatchy. “They are worried about a very unpredictable president of the United States. They are increasingly worried he is going to do things not based on what’s in the best interest..but based solely on his vision of ‘America First.’ ”

The Pentagon is already reviewing the impact of withdrawing some of the 35,000 active-duty American troops in Germany, the Washington Post reported last month.”

  10. I saw something this morning I have never seen before but have sometimes thought about. I have seen American flags inside the church and outside the church, both alone and alongside a Christian flag. When it’s both, they are always flown on the same level or if on the same pole the American flag is on top. This morning I saw both flags flown on the same pole, but the Christian flag was on top. And as if to emphasize the statement, a few feet away was a second pole with the same flags flown identically. This was not in or near church grounds. I approve the sentiment, but I thought it was curious since this is a very pro military area. Has anyone else seen flags flown that way?

    https://townhall.com/columnists/derekhunter/2018/07/05/liberals-oppose-insert-name-here-for-the-supreme-court-n2497316

“It’s as predictable as the sunrise; a certainty like death and taxes – Democrats vehemently oppose President Donald Trump’s Supreme Court nominee. Keep in mind, no nominee has been named yet, and won’t be until Monday, but it doesn’t matter; who it is will not matter, they freak out and oppose them.

We’ve been down this road before, and we’ll hopefully be down this road again (c’mon, Darth Vader Ginsberg, retirement is calling) – liberals whine and cry about how this or that nominee is “extreme” and therefore they can’t be confirmed. When your whole world is an angry mob worked up into a frenzy to the point that they’re shouting at government officials in public places, being a radical leftist seems normal.

When you celebrate an angry leftist “teacher” wearing a “Your Founding Fathers Owned Slaves” t-shirt on television because she read prepared talking points to the head of the Environmental Protection Agency in a restaurant while her husband filmed her, you aren’t associating or identifying with normal Americans. Forgive me if I have difficulty taking your political philosophy seriously if you willingly use your child as a political prop.

However, even though the Democratic Party is being bought out by socialists, they do still have a say in our government (at least for now). As such, and since you’re going to hear it anyway, I thought I’d give you a heads up on what you can expect to hear from these aspiring mini-Mussolinis after a nominee is named.”

    https://legalinsurrection.com/2018/07/ny-man-arrested-after-threatening-to-kill-trump-supporters/

“Astrof had driven to the Nesconset, N.Y., campaign office of U.S. Rep. Lee Zeldin, and become “irate with a campaign worker” and threatened to kill him and Trump supporters, police said.

Authorities said that after making the threats, Astrof backed his car up in an “aggressive manner,” nearly striking the worker before driving home.

. . . . Zeldin identified the campaign worker as Donato Panico, a deli owner who helped feed first responders after the attacks of 9/11 and was given an American flag flown near ground zero as thanks.

The congressman, who is running for re-election in New York’s 1st Congressional District, presented the flag to President Trump at Panico’s request.

Zeldin notes that “In the US, political scores are settled at the ballot box, not by trying to kill your political opponents.”

    https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/when-they-lose-democrats-just-want-to-change-the-rules

“As liberal fury over Justice Anthony Kennedy’s retirement continues to escalate, there’s a clear mindset behind the Left’s opposition tactics: “If we stop winning, we want to immediately change the rules.” In the week after Kennedy’s retirement was announced, some Democrats have revived their calls to “court pack”— increase the number of seats on the Supreme Court and fill those seats with justices sympathetic to their social agenda. This is something they also called for during the confirmation hearings for Justice Neil Gorsuch.

One Newsweek headline put it boldly and bluntly: “How Democrats can make Republicans pay for Justice Gorsuch.” We’ve seen this tactic before at times when liberals have lost. Immediately after the 2016 presidential election, liberals called for a popular vote victory rather than one based on the Electoral College.

They aren’t even trying to hide that their agenda is simply focused on stopping conservatives rather than playing fairly and genuinely arguing policy. Fair play recognizes both sides are constitutionally required to adhere to the same rules and stay within the margins of the Constitution. The Democrats’ rhetoric is a classic tactic to continue to move the goal posts and basically gerrymander favorability for one side.”
