  1. I would argue that they didn’t leave. They were expelled by a party who only plays identity politics now. As such, white folks are the bottom rung, the oppressors of all other groups according to Dem’s (ironically mostly white) leadership, and their concerns and wishes are the irrelevant to the party leaders.

    washingtonpost.com/news/monkey-cage/wp/2018/05/22/whites-have-fled-the-democratic-party-heres-how-the-nation-got-there/

“My research suggests that this combination of political “sorting” and changing white perceptions of the Democratic Party has resulted in an almost eight-point swing in white vote choice. That lines up well with actual vote returns. White votes were split between the two parties about 50-50 in the 1970s — but in elections since 2000, that has become closer to 60-40 in favor of the Republican Party. Democrats might be gaining more votes from Latinos, Asians and other emerging demographic groups, but they are losing whites as a result.

Furthermore, the demographics of the white voters who are likely to support Democrats are different from the white voters who supported the Democratic Party in previous decades.

Most notably, while the Democratic Party is winning a lower percentage of whites overall, a greater proportion of college-educated whites are voting for Democrats. Attitudes on social issues in particular have become stronger predictors of voting behavior in recent elections; economic attitudes have become more important, too, but were already quite a strong predictor to start with.”

You could also make an argument that those higher “educated” folks are just more heavily indoctrinated and more likely to align with Democrats on social issues, especially those from the pervert wing of the party, as they’ve been taught at colleges and universities across America. Not to mention that in those same schools. Dem politics are the only acceptable ones to most professors, so the only side they hear..

  2. Obama built that.

    http://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2018/05/green-energy-an-environmental-disaster.php

    ““GREEN” ENERGY, AN ENVIRONMENTAL DISASTER
One of the worst features of both wind and solar energy is that they are terrible for the environment. Land-based wind turbines are bad enough, but offshore installations are a fiasco waiting to happen. Steve Goreham writes at Watts Up With That?

Several eastern US states are planning major investments in offshore wind. Wind turbines are touted as clean, green, and economically sound. But experience from around the world shows that offshore wind systems are both expensive and at high risk for early system degradation.

The governors of Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New York, New Jersey, Maryland, and Virginia have signed executive orders or passed laws to procure offshore wind systems valued at billions of dollars. Officials are eager to win leadership in what is perceived to be a new growth industry. The US Department of Energy has funded over $200 million in offshore wind research since 2011.

Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker signed a law in 2016 requiring utilities to purchase 1,600 megawatts of electricity from offshore wind systems over the next 10 years.

Is is remarkable that the heavy hand of government has lined up behind such a risky technology.

  3. My Empathy, Their Wickedness

    https://www.nationalreview.com/2018/05/pundit-news-toolkit-victims-and-demons-good-and-evil/

“Pundits reflexively divide people in the news into angels and demons, but it’s not so simple.

Lately many of the people who make their living writing about politics have come to rely on just two exclusive courses of treatment for their subjects. Voters for Brexit and Donald Trump were extensively subjected to these treatments. Now, so are Palestinians in Gaza and “involuntarily celibate” men who post on the Internet. Really just about every political or social grouping is subjected to them at one time or another: social-justice warriors, WASPs, DINKS (double income, no kids), the upper middle class, undocumented immigrants, etc. The two courses of treatment are “my empathy” or “their wickedness.”

Analysts and intellectuals arrive at the bloody news like a paramedic armed with these two bags. Each is a toolkit that offers the writer a number of hardy rhetorical implements to manipulate his subject.

First in the “my empathy” toolkit is the long list of historical ills that the subject’s larger group has endured. Next come the descriptions of recent social or economic decline, usually backed up with statistics. The whole thing will be wrapped up by a description of the subject’s political aims, which are presented as fundamentally, almost embarrassingly modest. Just looking for equal rights here. Just looking to not be destroyed by a mob. Just looking to vote in his own interests. Just asking to live.

The “their wickedness” toolkit is similarly equipped. Usually the implements resemble the ones mentioned above. First comes the long list of historical traumas that the subject’s larger group has inflicted on the world. Next comes a number of statistics about the relative advantages that the group may have. Finally it is wrapped up with a prejudicing description of the subject’s political aims, which are presented as fundamentally, almost embarrassingly malign. Just looking to destroy everything decent. Just looking to vote against the basic rights of everyone else. Just demanding to kill.

Sometimes the toolkit is chosen based on an imagined global hierarchy of victims and malefactors. At other times, the toolkit is chosen out of purely partisan interests; it becomes a matter of keeping the electoral coalitions together and sufficiently passionate. Downwardly mobile whites are defined by their economic status one day, and by their skin-privilege the next. Acts of political terror can be reclassified quite quickly as the lashing out of the aggrieved.”

  6. I agree Ricky, it’s time for folks to seek truth. But Comey isn’t seeking truth, he’s trying to hide it. But it’s coming anyway.

    http://dailycaller.com/2018/05/22/fbi-agents-congress-subpoenas/

“Many agents in the FBI want Congress to subpoena them so they can reveal problems caused by former FBI Director James Comey and former Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe, three people in direct contact with active field agents tell TheDC.

“There are agents all over this country who love the bureau and are sickened by [James] Comey’s behavior and [Andrew] McCabe and [Eric] Holder and [Loretta] Lynch and the thugs like [John] Brennan–who despise the fact that the bureau was used as a tool of political intelligence by the Obama administration thugs,” former federal prosecutor Joe DiGenova told The Daily Caller Tuesday. “They are just waiting for a chance to come forward and testify.”

Ahead of the release of the Department of Justice (DOJ) inspector general report on how the FBI handled the Clinton email investigation, TheDC spoke with DiGenova, a former Trump official who maintained contact with rank and file FBI agents and a counter-intelligence consultant who conducted an interview with an active special agent of the FBI’s Washington Field Office (WFO). ”

TheDC independently confirmed the veracity of the consultant’s position and access, and reviewed detailed transcripts of his Q&A with the special agent, who requested the arrangement due to internal dragnets and fear of vicious retribution.

These agents prefer to be subpoenaed to becoming an official government whistleblower, since they fear political and professional backlash, the former Trump administration official explained to TheDC.

The subpoena is preferred, he said, “because when you are subpoenaed, Congress then pays…for your legal counsel and the subpoena protects [the agent] from any organizational retaliation…. they are on their own as whistleblowers, they get no legal protection and there will be organizational retaliation against them.””

  7. Hogg boy’s legacy.

    http://freebeacon.com/issues/nra-pac-raises-2-5-times-much-gun-control-pacs-april/

“The National Rifle Association’s Political Victory Fund raised about 2.75 times as much money in April as the leading gun-control PACs combined, filings with the Federal Election Commission revealed on Tuesday.

The NRA’s total of $1,852,323.28 represents a retreat from the record amount the group raised in March but is still more than the top three gun-control PACs combined. The Giffords PAC raised $653,510.53 in April, the Everytown for Gun Safety PAC raised $16,552.33, and the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence Voter Education Fund raised $4,015.00. The three groups combined raised $674,077.86, which is $1,178,245.42 less than the NRA.

The NRA raised the majority of their money, $1,603,469.65, from small donors who gave less than $200. The other $243,903.58 came from individuals giving more than $200. The group’s PAC spent $78,926.50 in April and ended the month with $7,618,245.50 cash on hand.”

Kaepernick loses the argument, because money and empty stadiums sends a louder message than taking a knee during the anthem does. That is the bottom line here.

  11. I just posted some questions about the GDPR on the daily thread, but thought I’d put it here, too, in case Tychicus (in the EU) or Ricky (as a lawyer) may have some input for me. I wrote:

I’m here with a question to ask of anyone who has a website and/or someone who understands the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) that’s supposed to go into effect on May 25, 2018.

I got an email from Wix.com, through whom I have my website, and it read as follows:

    What Is the GDPR?
On May 25th 2018, the General Data Protection Regulation—known as the GDPR—will come into effect. The aim is to protect the personal data of all EU citizens. Whatever the location of your business, if you own a website with EU visitors, or if your marketing campaigns target EU citizens, these changes affect you.
    What’s Next?
At Wix, we’ve provided you with tools and information to help you meet the new GDPR requirements. Find out how to respond to data requests from your visitors, create a privacy policy and more.

There was a Show Me How button in the email, which I clicked on because I think this applies to me, since my website stats show that I’ve had traffic from EU countries. (Interestingly, I also had a site visitor from France who emailed me at my business email, listed on my site. He is a recording artist who came out with an album last summer, about the time or a little before I published my site, and his album name is the same as my domain name! That freaked me out a little bit — that I’d given my business the same name as his album! — but my tax preparer said not to worry about that, I haven’t infringed on anything. And the guy only wrote to briefly tell about his music albums, and provided links where I could listen to snippets. There wasn’t any indication he was thinking, hey, you stole my album name for your website or anything like that.)

Anyway, back to the GDPR / EU situation… after clicking on the Show Me How button in the Wix email, I discovered a huge and bewildering array of information about what I’m supposedly to do to announce my privacy policies, data usage procedure, etc. etc. There was a statement saying something like, “Due to the complex regulations [of this new GDPR], we recommend you get a lawyer to make sure you are compliant” or something like that.

What?! I can’t afford a lawyer! I’d rather delete my whole site (it’s not been a profitable venture to this date, anyway) than to get tangled up with European Union legalese.

Any of you website owners know anything about this, or did you receive a similar email from WordPress or whomever your site is through? Does this apply to me as a business owner with a site that has received traffic from Europe?

I have no idea what to do, if anything. Am I imagining this is all more complicated than it is? I don’t want to just do nothing and hope it doesn’t apply to me, when maybe it does?

    Regulations. Grrrr.

    ————————————

(By the way, I am a piano teacher, so it is a business website, though I don’t offer Skype lessons or anything like that that would reach people outside my immediate physical locale. I have a blog on my website that could theoretically result in someone from the EU commenting, though no one from that area has done so. If someone did, I would know that person’s email address, so I’d technically have some of their “information.” Not sure if that would obligate me to provide a privacy policy, then?)

    Thanks.

  12. The re-education has begun………

Get your boys out now, before the perverts infest the group formerly known as BSA.

If your church is donating to them, stop that too.

    https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2018/may/22/boy-scouts-require-condoms-upcoming-world-jamboree/

“The Boy Scouts will reportedly provide condoms at the upcoming World Scout Jamboree.

The World Organization of Scouting Movement handbook requires the host organization to “ensure that condoms are readily and easily accessible for all participants and [International Service Team staff] at a number of locations on the site.”

The 2019 World Scout Jamboree will be held in West Virginia from July 21 to Aug. 1. The theme is “Unlock a New World.”

The World Jamboree is an official World Organization of the Scout Movement event. The Boy Scouts are co-hosting this year’s program with two other scouting organizations, Scouts Canada and the Scouts Association of Mexico.

Andy Chapman, vice chairperson of the World Scout Committee, said the co-hosts are working to implement requirements previously laid out by the World Organization of the Scout Movement.”
    ———————-

““All of this should be deeply disturbing to the churches that are chartering Boy Scout Troops,” Mr. Stemberger said in a statement posted to the Florida Family Policy Council website. “These policies present a clear youth protection problem that the BSA absolutely refuses to recognize. The fact that they are requiring that condoms be ‘readily accessible’ and are communicating this to everyone — including youth participants — shows that the BSA is both anticipating and facilitating sexual conduct between minors at this event. These policies are both outrageous and completely irresponsible.””
    ————————

I’d be more concerned about the adults preying on the minors. They just declared open season.

  13. Why it’s almost like Trump was right again, his campaign was wire “tapp-ed, as was Trump Tower.

    http://thehill.com/opinion/white-house/388978-growing-signs-of-a-counterintelligence-operation-deployed-against-trumps

    “Code name

The operation reportedly had at least one code name that was leaked to The New York Times: “Crossfire Hurricane.”

    Wiretap fever

Secret surveillance was conducted on no fewer than seven Trump associates: chief strategist Stephen Bannon; lawyer Michael Cohen; national security adviser Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn; adviser and son-in-law Jared Kushner; campaign chairman Paul Manafort; and campaign foreign policy advisers Carter Page and George Papadopoulos.

The FBI reportedly applied for a secret warrant in June 2016 to monitor Manafort, Page, Papadopoulos and Flynn. If true, it means the FBI targeted Flynn six months before his much-debated conversation with Russia’s ambassador, Sergey Kislyak.

The FBI applied four times to wiretap Page after he became a Trump campaign adviser starting in July 2016. Page’s office is connected to Trump Tower and he reports having spent “many hours in Trump Tower.”

CNN reported that Manafort was wiretapped before and after the election “including during a period when Manafort was known to talk to President Trump.” Manafort reportedly has a residence in Trump Tower.

Electronic surveillance was used to listen in on three Trump transition officials in Trump Tower — Flynn, Bannon and Kushner — as they met in an official capacity with the United Arab Emirates’ crown prince.

The FBI also reportedly wiretapped Flynn’s phone conversation with Kislyak on Dec. 31, 2016, as part of “routine surveillance” of Kislyak.

NBC recently reported that Cohen, Trump’s personal attorney, was wiretapped. NBC later corrected the story, saying Cohen was the subject of a “pen register” used to monitor phone numbers and, possibly, internet communications.”

  14. And now Mueller is breaking out the delay tactics……

    http://dailycaller.com/2018/05/23/mueller-delay-russia-trial/

“Special Counsel Robert Mueller asked a federal judge Tuesday to reject the four-decade-old speedy trial law in the case against 13 Russians and three Russian companies and has asked for an indefinite delay to the Russian collusion trial.

It is the second time Mueller tried to delay the trial. Judge Dabney L. Friedrich, a Trump appointee, rejected the earlier request without comment and ordered the case to go forward.”

    https://www.politico.com/story/2018/05/23/mueller-russia-probe-george-papadopoulos-filing-sentencing-605153

“A court filing Wednesday from special counsel Robert Mueller’s office may be a signal that his investigation into Russian efforts to coordinate with the Trump campaign is nearing a conclusion.

The filing asks a federal judge to start the process of preparing a pre-sentencing report for former Trump campaign foreign policy adviser George Papadopoulos, who pleaded guilty last year to lying to investigators in the Trump-Russia probe.

The move indicates that a sentencing for Papadopoulos could come this summer — without him testifying at the trials of others who may have been involved in alleged collusion with the Kremlin on its attempts to interfere in the 2016 presidential election. No one faces such charges at the moment.

It’s also possible that the filing is a sign that the investigation has progressed to the point that prosecutors have concluded Papadopoulos’s testimony would not be useful in any future cases.

“It means they’re pretty much done with him, or they don’t need him testifying,” said former federal prosecutor Sol Wisenberg. “It may mean they’ve taken a look at the others in the campaign and decided they cannot charge them, or they’re going to charge them without him. … It means things are moving along.””
