Prayer Requests 9-29-17

It’s Friday, so please remember to pray for Mumsee, Mike, and the Nestlings.

Anyone else?

Psalm 49:1-12

Hear this, all you peoples;
    listen, all who live in this world,
both low and high,
    rich and poor alike:
My mouth will speak words of wisdom;
    the meditation of my heart will give you understanding.
I will turn my ear to a proverb;
    with the harp I will expound my riddle:

Why should I fear when evil days come,
    when wicked deceivers surround me—
those who trust in their wealth
    and boast of their great riches?
No one can redeem the life of another
    or give to God a ransom for them—
the ransom for a life is costly,
    no payment is ever enough—
so that they should live on forever
    and not see decay.
10 For all can see that the wise die,
    that the foolish and the senseless also perish,
    leaving their wealth to others.
11 Their tombs will remain their houses forever,
    their dwellings for endless generations,
    though they had named lands after themselves.

12 People, despite their wealth, do not endure;
    they are like the beasts that perish.

  1. Good (early) morning. It’s Ann–I’m on my cell–hence, anonymous. Just wanted to give y’all an update on my MIL. She saw the surgeon for a follow-up yesterday. He said it’s still too swollen for hard cast and she needs to elevate it and wiggle her fingers a lot–neither of which has she been doing. Her son, Mark, came in from San Francisco for eight days to care for her., which has been a huge help. Please pray we find the “right” persons to care for her when he leaves Monday.

  2. To answer DJ’s question from last night, no, there have been no answers or suppositions yet. I hoping whichever doctor sees him this morning on rounds will have an answer or start the ball rolling on looking for one.

  3. It is worse not knowing. Our imaginations take off like crazy. Praying, Kizzie. How difficult for all of you!

    My daughter recently mentioned that when her doctor told her to elevate her legs, she meant higher that the heart. Resting in a recliner does not count. She is also dealing with all the fluids still in her before the birth of her baby. Sometimes it is difficult to push oneself to do what needs to be done. Hope your MIL will do so, Ann. Sometimes we do need cheerleaders.

  4. Prayer for the bio grandma as she goes to the prison to break the news to the oldest brother. He and the deceased were each other’s family. He has attempted suicide twice. But it needs to be done. I don’t know if they will allow him to attend his brother’s funeral.

  5. Hubby is still throwing up about an hour after he eats anything. He had that procedure (to look inside the bladder & cauterize where they found bleeding) three days ago, so we’re wondering if this is something other than a reaction to the anesthesia.

    He hasn’t yet responded to my message asking if he’s still in pain, but the fact that he hasn’t been communicating with me much today tells me he must still be on the morphine.

    We’re not making it up to the hospital today because we had lots to catch up on, but with him being out of it most of the time, due to the morphine, he won’t miss us. Yesterday he didn’t really want us to stay too long. My poor husband.

  6. Kizzie, the morphine can slow down the digestive system which could be causing pain. We had that when BG was in the hospital.
    I hate you are going through all of this. Know that our love and prayers are with you. I wish I could make us a nice pot of tea and visit. Here is your virtual hug {{{{Kizzie}}}}

  7. Thank you, Kim. I believe the nausea & pain started before they put him on morphine.

    Funny you should mention tea. Last week, Nightingale had a cold, & was drinking large amounts of the tea I always have ready in a large “pot” (really a six-cup measuring cup that I use just for tea). She was drinking so much of it, that I started making two, one right after the other, pouring the first one into a tea pot, & did that twice a day for a couple days. The Boy likes my tea, too, & always has some when he is down here. I’m the tea-making lady around here.
