Prayer Requests 8-31-17

It’s Thursday, so don’t forget to pray for Jo, her students, and the people of PNG.

Anyone else?

Psalm 22:1-11

My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?
    Why are you so far from saving me,
    so far from my cries of anguish?
My God, I cry out by day, but you do not answer,
    by night, but I find no rest.

Yet you are enthroned as the Holy One;
    you are the one Israel praises.
In you our ancestors put their trust;
    they trusted and you delivered them.
To you they cried out and were saved;
    in you they trusted and were not put to shame.

But I am a worm and not a man,
    scorned by everyone, despised by the people.
All who see me mock me;
    they hurl insults, shaking their heads.
“He trusts in the Lord,” they say,
    “let the Lord rescue him.
Let him deliver him,
    since he delights in him.”

Yet you brought me out of the womb;
    you made me trust in you, even at my mother’s breast.
10 From birth I was cast on you;
    from my mother’s womb you have been my God.

11 Do not be far from me,
    for trouble is near
    and there is no one to help.

  1. Blood & little “blood clots” in Hubby’s urine today. 😦

    He went through this last year about this time, too. Even so, it is a concern.

  2. He just texted me that he is on his way to the ER of a hospital in a town on his route. The bleeding must be getting worse for him to do that. 😦

    Carol is seeing a doctor today and having an ultrasound (they’re coming to the facility) for a new lump/bump found near her hernia that is quite painful and red.

  4. Michelle – It was in that time period that the bleeding started.

    Thank you all for your prayers. I haven’t heard anything more than that he’d arrived at the hospital.

    There are times, like this, when I catch myself about to say to Nightingale or Chickadee, “Pray for your dad. . .” & then realize they no longer believe in that. 😦

  5. Finally heard back from Hubby. The bleeding has slowed (they were “flushing” it), & he will be released sometime today. He will take the day off from work tomorrow to follow up with his urologist.

  6. Prayers Kizzie

    Carol is being admitted to the hospital as well, ER doc says she had an infection of the abdomen wall and a broken varicose vein near that and cellulitis. They’re going to be a metabolic workup on her, she’ll probably be in for a while she said.

  7. Nightingale drove me to the hospital, & Little Guy was with us, of course. Since it is in a town on the other side of Hartford, it took over an hour & half, in Hartford’s “rush hour” traffic, to get there.

    Hubby’s urine is still bloody, & they need to do some more tests to determine what is causing the bleeding. He is catheterized, with the urine (being “flushed out” with an IV of saline solution) going into a bag. Nightingale remarked that the fluid that had accumulated in the bag was the color of fruit punch. !!!

    One of the tests they did turned up evidence that he has indeed had some kind of episode with his heart. I don’t know what they may do about that.

    As we were about to leave, a tech came by to take him for an ultrasound.

    We were able to take him some things he needed, & Nightingale included some food she had just cooked this afternoon, & I added a brownie. We were also there the same time a guy from Hubby’s work showed up to get the truck. Nightingale met him at the truck to give him the key & take out Hubby’s personal items.

    On the long drive home, it occurred to me that if Hubby is released tomorrow afternoon, it would probably make sense for Nightingale to go to pick him up straight from her work, which is located a little closer to Hartford (& thus the other town) than we are. IOW, if she came home first, she’d have to backtrack to go to the hospital. Anyway, knowing I’d be here with Little Guy (after school) & Janie, we decided to text Chickadee to ask her if she could come over to help me out if needed.

    The McKs all have a bunch of errands to do tomorrow, so they couldn’t drop her off. Quick-thinking Nightingale realized that we were at a point in our travelling where it was just a little out of the way to go pick up Chickadee right then. So I texted her back & told her we were on our way. Fortunately, Chickadee was amenable to that.

    I may not even need her help, especially if Hubby is not released after all, but it makes me feel better knowing she is here to help. As I told her, this week has been an emotional rollercoaster, so having her to rely on if needed is a comfort.

    God bless both my good girls.

  8. Hope you can get some sleep, Kizzie, glad the girls are with you.

    Carol called, she has cellulitis of the abdominal wall, so probably several days of antibiotic IVs at the hospital; she’s still in pain and was waiting for more pain medication when we talked
