Prayer Requests 7-24-17

Anyone have something to share?

Psalm 139:1-18

You have searched me, Lord,
    and you know me.
You know when I sit and when I rise;
    you perceive my thoughts from afar.
You discern my going out and my lying down;
    you are familiar with all my ways.
Before a word is on my tongue
    you, Lord, know it completely.
You hem me in behind and before,
    and you lay your hand upon me.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
    too lofty for me to attain.

Where can I go from your Spirit?
    Where can I flee from your presence?
If I go up to the heavens, you are there;
    if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.
If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
    if I settle on the far side of the sea,
10 even there your hand will guide me,
    your right hand will hold me fast.
11 If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me
    and the light become night around me,”
12 even the darkness will not be dark to you;
    the night will shine like the day,
    for darkness is as light to you.

13 For you created my inmost being;
    you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
    your works are wonderful,
    I know that full well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you
    when I was made in the secret place,
    when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
16 Your eyes saw my unformed body;
    all the days ordained for me were written in your book
    before one of them came to be.
17 How precious to me are your thoughts, God!
    How vast is the sum of them!
18 Were I to count them,
    they would outnumber the grains of sand—
    when I awake, I am still with you.

  1. Hubby had a pain-filled night. Bad backache from lots of shoveling of heavy rock on Thursday to fill in our flood-damaged driveway.

    Please also see the weekend prayer thread for other flood-related problems we’re experiencing, and the other things I wrote.

    I couldn’t sleep well last night, either. The situation with 2nd Arrow and her fiance is back to gnawing on my mind when I thought I had fully given that over to God.

  2. Hosea 3:4-5King James Version (KJV)

    4 For the children of Israel shall abide many days without a king, and without a prince, and without a sacrifice, and without an image, and without an ephod, and without teraphim:

    5 Afterward shall the children of Israel return, and seek the Lord their God, and David their king; and shall fear the Lord and his goodness in the latter days.

  3. Praying with you 6….always heart wrenching as we witness our children making decisions we would not….trusting the Lord to give careful watch over her❤️
    As for the flooding, a friend had flooding years ago in her basement..a recovery team was sent in by her insurance company and they loosened the carpet after extracting most of the water, then placed three or four big fans blasting on high for about a week…..with all windows opened…no mold nor musty smells….

  4. All the people I know who have cancer. Another, came to my attention yesterday. She is the niece of a woman who was like a sister in law to Mr. P. She is 20 or so with terminal colon cancer. They are praying for a miracle, but are now focused on giving her a wedding. Her boyfriend proposed and they want her to have that.
    It just seems to be all around me right now, including our own KBells.

  5. Nightingale & Little Guy left earlier this morning for their vacation in New York. They will be camping at a campsite on Staten Island, & sightseeing in the city. Please pray for God’s protection over them & their property, that her car (which is pretty old) keeps working well, & that Janie will be safe in the kennel she’s in (& that she won’t regress too badly on her training). Thank you.

  6. Thank you for those comforting words from Scripture, Chas. And thank you to all for your prayers.

    Cancer seemed to be all around in one of the communities where I taught school. For a while there it seemed like we’d hear of someone newly diagnosed each month — and the town only had about 500 people. Two of my students, in the K-6 school of about 150 kids, got cancer, too, and one of them died. Such a sad thing.

    Praying for all needs above.

  7. Offering a praise to God that 3rd Arrow was also offered the other job for which she interviewed. She will do both, as they are part time. Thank you all for your prayers!
