Prayer Requests 6-24-17

Anyone have something to share?

Psalm 112

Praise the Lord.

Blessed are those who fear the Lord,
    who find great delight in his commands.

Their children will be mighty in the land;
    the generation of the upright will be blessed.
Wealth and riches are in their houses,
    and their righteousness endures forever.
Even in darkness light dawns for the upright,
    for those who are gracious and compassionate and righteous.
Good will come to those who are generous and lend freely,
    who conduct their affairs with justice.

Surely the righteous will never be shaken;
    they will be remembered forever.
They will have no fear of bad news;
    their hearts are steadfast, trusting in the Lord.
Their hearts are secure, they will have no fear;
    in the end they will look in triumph on their foes.
They have freely scattered their gifts to the poor,
    their righteousness endures forever;
    their horn will be lifted high in honor.

10 The wicked will see and be vexed,
    they will gnash their teeth and waste away;
    the longings of the wicked will come to nothing.

  1. This past week has been difficult at work with the boss…she finally told me on Friday that she has been extremely angry with me because she was told by “someone” that I had shared a frustration with a coworker/friend in a conversation (four of us believe she is privately recording our conversations while she is watching our every move on the store security cameras)…she then proceeded to tell me that as a “Christian” we are not to speak negatively and that I had the ultimate “dream job”….really? This is a gal who will speak negatively with any and everyone…even show texts that an ex employee sent to her…ridiculing this gal to all…I then found out yesterday that she had this conversation with another coworker but she made me believe I was the only one she was angry with…. I am frustrated and ready to call it a day but I do so want to follow after what the Lord has in all of this mess. Prayers so appreciated…..

  2. This may sound trivial but we were suppose to take the Kid to the movies for his birthday back in May, but wit my back problems I knew I couldn’t sit through it. Well my back is better and this is the last week or so before this movie leaves the theater so we are going to give it a try today. Please say a prayer that all goes well and that my back hold out and we all have a good time.

  3. Thank you all for weather prayers during VBS. The weather was only really hot one day; gorgeous the rest.

    My friends are asking if I can have you pray for other things since you’re so effective with the weather . . .

  4. Kbells – Those kinds of things may seem trivial on the surface, but they are in fact part of building on the relationship you have with your son, & that is certainly not trivial.

  5. I’m sorry about your hard week at work, NancyJill. Prayers for you.

    KBells, glad to hear your back is better. Praying that your back will hold up, and that you’ll have an enjoyable time at the movie and afterwards.

  6. Maybe nothing but target practice, but I heard a single gunshot about 15 or 20 minutes ago (usually there is more than one shot when neighbors are doing target practice), and I am hoping our neighbor didn’t have another rattlesnake in their yard like 10 days ago, the last time we heard a single gunshot. They haven’t called to say that’s what the gunshot was for, like they did the last time.

  7. NancyJill, I would be very wary of that boss myself. She is wrong that Christians are not to ever speak negatively. Really? Where are we ever told that. Did Jesus or Paul etc. ever speak negatively? We are to speak the truth and work as unto the Lord. We are also told not to be hypocrites or lie, which she seems to have missed. Obviously, you know all of this.

    My prayers for you that you will know whether to confront her and speak the truth in love or what is your best course of action. Also, that you will not sin against her, but do what is best in God’s eyes. I also pray you will be protected from her.

  8. Gunshot was due to another rattler. That’s two on the neighbor’s property in the last ten days. They’ve had workers doing a big landscaping project there for the past few weeks, so there is probably disruption of the snakes’ habitat. Thankfully, no people or pets have been injured.

    I am concerned that when our septic renovation gets under way this year, we might also be stirring up trouble with snakes. Prayers for safety appreciated for the families and pets on our dead-end road (four families, two of them with young children).

    Thanks.

  9. I requested prayer for east-coast nephew, B, a few weeks ago. He entered the military, and went to boot camp in the Midwest. Last night was the graduation ceremony. He and the rest of the group finished. Not an easy journey, and he said he’d never seen so many baptisms in as short a time as he had during the time there.

    Next move will be to Pensacola, where he will later learn what ship he’ll be on. Please pray for him on his next leg of the military journey. Thank you.

  10. You know I now work in Pensacola?

    NancyJill, My first thought is I would quit that job and not deal with the stress of it, but then we all know how long I put up with Guy, so that would be sort of hypocritical of me to say…. but…..
    I will pray for the right thing to happen.

  11. My cousin who was hit in the crosswalk several months ago is recovering well (he had a badly broken leg), he’s now in physical therapy. But a new complication has come up — they’ve since discovered there was some damage to the spine as well and now he may need another surgery. 😦

  12. Oh don’t you know I have been thinking of how much and long you have endured the travails of Guy dear Kim…as I have gone before the Lord with this since this “confrontation” I have decided I will tell her I am leaving…I want to part on as good as a relationship as possible…she is my neighbor and I will run into her from time to time. I just felt so bullied and manipulated and life is too short to allow someone to behave that badly towards you…yes KIm?? ❤

  13. Hi, all.

    Update on my cousin: My brother has found an apartment for him and is planning to fund it along with another one of my brothers. I’ll be helping them move him in tomorrow. Cousin has seen a psychiatrist, but hasn’t said what (if any) diagnosis was given. I have an appointment with same psychiatrist Monday and plan to share some specifics re: cousin that I think are red flags for mental illness….I realize doctor can’t share any information with me, but there are no rules preventing me from sharing information with him. Cousin had to obtain a lot of documents in order to renew his very-expired driver’s license…should have them all in about a week. My brother (who also lives in Houston) has given him a bicycle as well as a refillable bus pass. Once he has valid ID, he says he plans to look for a job.

  14. I believe the doctor can share with you if the patient (your cousin) gives him express permission that you’re to be filled in. That’s how it’s work with Carol for me in the past anyway. But yes, it’s always good to give them info, that will really help.

  15. Movie was a disaster. Hubby and the Kid got in a big fight on the way.. Hubby started to turn around and go home. I wanted to see the movie. He stewed all the way through and jumped on the Kid for the first thing he could find on the way home. Then he and I got in a fight. Now we’re all sitting here not speaking.

  16. Sorry to hear that, KBells, it happens. You and the husband are the most important part of the family, praying for softening between you. Kid needs to see that and know that his world is okay.

  17. So sorry, Kbells. 😦 There are times when similar things happen with Hubby & Little Guy, when they could have been enjoying each other’s company & bonding. It is disappointing, to say the least. Praying peace & forgiveness will fill your home this evening.

  18. In a shocking turn of events, son lied to us. He said he was going to see about giving the boss two weeks notice. He did not. He is going to another church this morning. I suspect he is not interested in talking with the boss at church. Wisdom. Always.

  19. Prayers for quick healing, kare.

    Sorry to hear that, kbells. It is difficult to be in the middle, especially when you have more than enough on your plate. Prayers for patience and wisdom and for your husband and son.
