Prayer Requests 5-27-17

Anyone have something to share?

Psalm 86

Hear me, Lord, and answer me,
    for I am poor and needy.
Guard my life, for I am faithful to you;
    save your servant who trusts in you.
You are my God; have mercy on me, Lord,
    for I call to you all day long.
Bring joy to your servant, Lord,
    for I put my trust in you.

You, Lord, are forgiving and good,
    abounding in love to all who call to you.
Hear my prayer, Lord;
    listen to my cry for mercy.
When I am in distress, I call to you,
    because you answer me.

Among the gods there is none like you, Lord;
    no deeds can compare with yours.
All the nations you have made
    will come and worship before you, Lord;
    they will bring glory to your name.
10 For you are great and do marvelous deeds;
    you alone are God.

11 Teach me your way, Lord,
    that I may rely on your faithfulness;
give me an undivided heart,
    that I may fear your name.
12 I will praise you, Lord my God, with all my heart;
    I will glorify your name forever.
13 For great is your love toward me;
    you have delivered me from the depths,
    from the realm of the dead.

14 Arrogant foes are attacking me, O God;
    ruthless people are trying to kill me—
    they have no regard for you.
15 But you, Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God,
    slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness.
16 Turn to me and have mercy on me;
    show your strength in behalf of your servant;
save me, because I serve you
    just as my mother did.
17 Give me a sign of your goodness,
    that my enemies may see it and be put to shame,
    for you, Lord, have helped me and comforted me.

  1. Carol took a fall last night and had to go to the hospital for stitches but is back home resting — though very tearful and lonely 😦 I texted her brother again and will email her friend from church

  2. From my friend Renee in Minnesota, the lady who had her shoulder surgery earlier this month:

    “My surgery went well but it’s been downhill since then. This is 15th day of recovery (4 weeks left). I first hurt myself on about day 4; my surgeon says I might have wrecked the sutures/bolts if so will need another MRI and possible a re-do surgery. Within an hour of when I left his office, I was getting into the car when I fell or tripped (it felt sort of like I was unconscious for a second). I reached up for the door jamb with my bad arm and it has hurt now for 8 days, in places other than the rotator cuff. BTW, he repaired 2 cuff repairs, plus a torn ligament. He said 2 tears is very unusual in his career, and he’s about 70. I’ll do another update after next Thursday. Hope you all are behaving yourselves better than I and best wishes for a nice weekend!!!”

  3. Little Guy threw up a lot a little while ago (all in one “session”, if you know what I mean). He finally fell asleep shortly before 10:00.

    Besides praying that he will not have to throw up anymore, that this sick tummy will pass quickly, I am also hoping & praying this was not viral, because I finished eating his ice cream cone earlier. 😦

  4. Apparently, eighteen year old’s friend’s friend died last night. Drinking and dirt bike. Don’t know if it is true but it is apparently on FB which means nothing to me. But prayer for son to be able to offer solace to friend who is in great pain over this.

  5. Little Guy threw up three more times last night, but is feeling fine now.

    I’m still a little nervous about getting to myself. Shouldn’t have finished his ice cream cone.

  6. Thanks, Mumsee; all praying. The essential oils routine I’ve set up (clove, oregano, frankincense and tea tree [though the latter is gone now, since I’d already had it on hand, and it was almost out when I started using it for my toothache]), along with other home remedies, have helped some during the daytime. Today I did not have to ice until around 8:00 p.m., and was able to do more around-the-home activities without a great deal of pain. Nights are still hard — little to no improvement –any lying-down or reclining-back position aggravates. I’m hoping for gradual improvement on that front, now that I’m experiencing progress in the daytime.

    I really appreciate the prayers.
