It’s Friday, so please remember to pray for Mumsee, Mike, and the Nestlings.
Anyone else?
Psalm 9:1-10
1 I will give thanks to you, Lord, with all my heart;
I will tell of all your wonderful deeds.
2 I will be glad and rejoice in you;
I will sing the praises of your name, O Most High.
3 My enemies turn back;
they stumble and perish before you.
4 For you have upheld my right and my cause,
sitting enthroned as the righteous judge.
5 You have rebuked the nations and destroyed the wicked;
you have blotted out their name for ever and ever.
6 Endless ruin has overtaken my enemies,
you have uprooted their cities;
even the memory of them has perished.
7 The Lord reigns forever;
he has established his throne for judgment.
8 He rules the world in righteousness
and judges the peoples with equity.
9 The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed,
a stronghold in times of trouble.
10 Those who know your name trust in you,
for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you.
Prayers for my attitude — real estate pal is giving me the business for allowing plumbers yesterday to use a camera as part of the diagnosis (it’s always a ploy, he says); maybe, but he’s just been really ornery about it suddenly, scolding me via email which I’m pretty much done with.
Meanwhile, I’m trying to pull together a weekend story on the fly; Carol asking when I can come over next; and I’m dreading ceiling work all weekend, not to mention how to get the pipe and foundation and driveway all fixed. Too much all at once, maybe.
Guess I just sort of hit the wall today and I’m feeling quite ornery with everyone and everything myself right about now, having a very snippy day.

Praying DJ. You’ve been pretty wonderful with Carol, even in the midst of all the housing repairs, illness, work deadlines, and the not insignificant demands of fur babies. Hang in there; You’re my hero. :–)

OK, broke off the Monday appt with the plumber (who seemed pretty gracious about it, said I didn’t owe him anything for yesterday’s appt, including the camera diagnostics). Real estate pal begrudgingly happy, I suppose.
I get it that people try to rip us off — but not everyone is doing that all the time as real estate pal seems to think. He’s convinced I’m a total idiot I guess. Argh.
At least I found a story to do for the weekend. A little weak, but it’ll do.

Thank you Debra — one of those days where I feel like yelling or crying. Or maybe both!

Sounds like he got on a power role and started steam rolling. You do what you want with your place. His advice is nice but it is just advice.

Yes, and I’ve irked him by standing my ground on a few things — windows, for example.
He knows a lot, has been a big help overall — but can get bossy. Let’s just say he’s been through 3 wives.

On the plus side, he now feels motivated to find someone to do the work for me. I think he felt kind of bad when he snapped like he did.

Our next battle, caught in a brief conversation at the dog park last weekend:
“I want to put wood floors in the kitchen.”
“NOOOO. You CAN’T put wood floors in the kitchen. You can ONLY put ceramic tile.”
I felt my heels start to dig into the wood chips just a little bit as I only smiled.

You can so to have wood floors. 🙂
I am not in the mood for him. He isn’t your father or your husband.
Carol needs to realize you have a life and a lot going on and cannot be at her beck and call
NOW!!! I will go work on my crankiness

So I guess I wasn’t the only one in a cranky mood today. May God help all of us grumpies pull out of the crankiness, & face our weekends with gratitude to Him. (Says the lady who will be babysitting all weekend but really needs a break. I do need a break, but I will choose to be grateful for my grandson & that I am here for him.)

funny, I kept thinking, well, he’s older than I am but he’s NOT old enough to be my father.
I get the cautions about wood floors in a kitchen — just as I got (and went against) his caution about having a big window in the shower.
But …
Wood floors are so gorgeous & all the rest of my house still has the original oak floors. (Only tile now in the bathroom).

Kim and real estate pal are like the angel and devil sitting on my shoulders 🙂
He’s all about being practical and spending the least amount of money.
Kim is all about “getting” what I am looking for, in design, in ambiance.
