Prayer Requests 2-25-17

Anyone have something to share?

Psalm 148

Praise the Lord.

Praise the Lord from the heavens;
    praise him in the heights above.
Praise him, all his angels;
    praise him, all his heavenly hosts.
Praise him, sun and moon;
    praise him, all you shining stars.
Praise him, you highest heavens
    and you waters above the skies.

Let them praise the name of the Lord,
    for at his command they were created,
and he established them for ever and ever—
    he issued a decree that will never pass away.

Praise the Lord from the earth,
    you great sea creatures and all ocean depths,
lightning and hail, snow and clouds,
    stormy winds that do his bidding,
you mountains and all hills,
    fruit trees and all cedars,
10 wild animals and all cattle,
    small creatures and flying birds,
11 kings of the earth and all nations,
    you princes and all rulers on earth,
12 young men and women,
    old men and children.

13 Let them praise the name of the Lord,
    for his name alone is exalted;
    his splendor is above the earth and the heavens.
14 And he has raised up for his people a horn,
    the praise of all his faithful servants,
    of Israel, the people close to his heart.

Praise the Lord.

  1. I’ve asked a couple times here for prayer for Dave, one of my best friends in college, and his wife Pamela who was diagnosed last year with Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease. Dave posted on Caring Bridge today: “It is with great sadness that I have to tell you Pamela went to be with the Lord last night, Friday at 7:30 pm. Her time with us was a very precious gift from God. She will be greatly missed.” Please remember him.

  2. Prayer for husband as he ventures onto Wyoming highways in very high winds. The road is closed to all trucks under 20,000 pounds and he has 24,000. He is carrying pet food so he and I think it could wait but he has not been able to reach dispatch for permission to stop for a while. Prayer for wisdom. Thanks.

  3. Mumsee – If the road is closed to trucks over 20,000 lbs., isn’t permission from his company irrelevant? I mean, obeying the law should supersede what the company may or may not say.

  4. Closed to trucks under 20,000. Of course, his load is pig ears packed to the ceiling so not a very low center of gravity. But he is safely through that area. He did see two semis blown over and two semis blown off the road. Lots of black ice.

  5. Sure, but one must keep one’s eyes on the deadlines and on what the driver’s hours are and the limits and constraints there. All much more complicated than I had expected. He says there were over five hundred trucks parked in the parking area he stopped in last night. There are a lot of trucks out there. Interesting to see if the predictions that driverless trucks will be the way in then years.

  6. Father-in-law still hanging on, though visibly much weaker than yesterday. They’ll put him in hospice care tomorrow (if he makes it through the night) to allow him to stay in the hospital with family around 24/7 rather than being moved to a nursing home.

  7. Kaitlyn’s mom arrived yesterday while she was having chemotherapy. Her mom dismissed Kaitlyn’s friend who had been going to all her appointments and had stayed overnight at the cancer centre with her by saying “I’m here now, you can go. I’ll take care of her now, she doesn’t need visitors” !!! When the friend left, Kaitlyn and her mom were arguing about that and about moving her to Calgary. A nurse had to step in and say that Kaitlyn wasn’t going anywhere for the time being.
