Prayer Requests 1-5-17

It’s Thursday, so don’t forget to pray for Jo, her students, and the people of PNG.

Anyone else?

Psalm 99

The Lord reigns,
    let the nations tremble;
he sits enthroned between the cherubim,
    let the earth shake.
Great is the Lord in Zion;
    he is exalted over all the nations.
Let them praise your great and awesome name—
    he is holy.

The King is mighty, he loves justice—
    you have established equity;
in Jacob you have done
    what is just and right.
Exalt the Lord our God
    and worship at his footstool;
    he is holy.

Moses and Aaron were among his priests,
    Samuel was among those who called on his name;
they called on the Lord
    and he answered them.
He spoke to them from the pillar of cloud;
    they kept his statutes and the decrees he gave them.

Lord our God,
    you answered them;
you were to Israel a forgiving God,
    though you punished their misdeeds.
Exalt the Lord our God
    and worship at his holy mountain,
    for the Lord our God is holy.

  1. Very uncomfortable this morning after a rough night of sleep. But it is time to get started on the chores. Glad I have small folk to help me along. Yesterday I was not even able to pick up a flake of hay from the snow but I was able to pick up a bale of hay which was more elevated. As long as I don’t reach down, it is okay. Prayer for wisdom as to how much to rest and still get everything done that is essential.

  2. Please pray for Josh, about 28, who was in a serious auto accident last night. He drives something like a Mazda sedan. No details on the accident, but he’s in the ICU with multiple fractured ribs and a fractured skull.

    Josh is a methodical accountant who attends our church and sings in the choir with us. He’s often house sat for us and did yard work at our other house while still in school. The real trauma? His mother Pam was the friend who died in the horrible scooter accident on the freeway last May. The family is a wreck, obviously, and I’ll ask for prayer for them as well as Josh.

    Thanks.

  3. Learning that someone well known to us at the paper (a former staffer) went down in that helicopter crash in the port yesterday, he was on assignment for the port taking aerial photos all day — prayers for his family and those who worked with him, everyone’s heartbroken at the news.

  4. I got a FB friend request earlier today from a cousin. Since she has been estranged from the family through no fault of her own I was a little shocked to receive it and with all the warnings about identity theft on FB I send a message to her that I would be happy to accept her friend request but first tell me her mother’s middle name and birth order. She replied and I accepted the request. She asked if she could speak with me, so I sent her my number. Her mother is my father’s baby sister. Aunt J will be 63 in April and is suffering from forgetfulness. She paid her power bill 4 times last month and a host of other signs. She is starting to become agitated and argumentative. She is also 6ft tall (told you I was the runt of the family) and is down to 110 pounds. My cousin wanted to question me about family medical history. We spoke for over an hour today. Aunt J’s husband is taking her to the doctor tomorrow for a “physical”. Please say a prayer for them. Hopefully the doctor can give her something that will even our her disposition and perhaps slow the process. They live in Georgia.
    Thanks.
