Prayer Requests 12-30-16

It’s Friday, so please remember to pray for Mumsee, Mike, and the Nestlings.

Psalm 94:1-15

1 The Lord is a God who avenges.
    O God who avenges, shine forth.
2 Rise up, Judge of the earth;
    pay back to the proud what they deserve.
3 How long, Lord, will the wicked,
    how long will the wicked be jubilant?

4 They pour out arrogant words;
    all the evildoers are full of boasting.
5 They crush your people, Lord;
    they oppress your inheritance.
6 They slay the widow and the foreigner;
    they murder the fatherless.
7 They say, “The Lord does not see;
    the God of Jacob takes no notice.”

8 Take notice, you senseless ones among the people;
    you fools, when will you become wise?
9 Does he who fashioned the ear not hear?
    Does he who formed the eye not see?
10 Does he who disciplines nations not punish?
    Does he who teaches mankind lack knowledge?
11 The Lord knows all human plans;
    he knows that they are futile.

12 Blessed is the one you discipline, Lord,
    the one you teach from your law;
13 you grant them relief from days of trouble,
    till a pit is dug for the wicked.
14 For the Lord will not reject his people;
    he will never forsake his inheritance.
15 Judgment will again be founded on righteousness,
    and all the upright in heart will follow it.

    I still haven’t heard anything from my brother…. I didn’t really expect to–but was hoping for some communications to be restored. Please keep the situation in your prayers. Thanks.

  2. Will do, Ann. I’m sorry communications haven’t been restored. Perhaps having a longer period in which he ponders your peacemaking gesture might make his commitment to reconciliation and good communication, when it comes about, more solidified.

  3. I could use prayers for creativity. We are down to $30 in our food envelope, and six days to go until payday. Please pray I am able to wisely use what food we already have on hand. Thanks.

  4. Today, daughter and son in law and granddaughter were going to drive up for a visit. But the weather makes driving conditions pretty poor so wisdom for them as to whether or not to make the trip.

  5. Prayers for all.

    I used to sometimes really dress my table with candles etc. for some of those times, 6 arrows. Even mac and cheese seemed better when the table was set for celebration. Praying you will have all the creativity for stretching and using what you have and for grateful hearts all around.

  6. Ann, I will keep it in prayer. I have a similar situation (although not totally cut-off) and I take satisfaction in knowing I did my best. That is what the bible says, “As far as you are able…” Of course, I still pray and I have seem many astonishing changes in my life time.

  7. Ann’s request reminds to me to ask for salvation for my own brother (eight years my senior) & his family (wife, grown daughter, daughter’s “husband” *), & reconciliation with them. They cut me/us out of their lives a few years ago, but I never had a close relationship with Brother, & he never considered me an important part of his life. (Brother & SIL live in the same small town we live in.)

    I believe strongly that reconciliation will not come until/unless he becomes a believer, although I realize God may have us reconcile in some way before that.

    (* Her “husband” is a “trans man”. Niece once considered herself a lesbian, then settled on bisexual. I pray for healing & deliverance for both of them.)

  8. Kathaleena, 11:19, great idea. Atmosphere is important, and something simple and beautiful can help with an attitude of gratitude. There is much more to a meal than just the food on the table.

  10. Shells and cheese, steamed peas, and cottage cheese with maple syrup for lunch today. Only three of us are home, and 6th Arrow provided the table decorations — muffin cup papers happily adorning the perimeter of the east half of our 8-seat oval table. 🙂

    They muffin papers were all turned over, and 4th Arrow (15-year-old sister) was instructed to find the one which had a little plastic dinosaur hidden under it.

    Smiling abounded (yes, from the teenager, too) during the search. 🙂

    Rather a nice little meal, and sweet fellowship. God is good.

  11. New underestimate the power of dried beans or Peas. New years day. Black Eyed peas and cabbage with corn bread. Call me and I will tell you how to make it all southern. Chicken and dumplings day 2. Recycle for chicken pot pie on day 4. What meat do you have in the freezer? Put it in a casserole dish add rice, cream of so thing soup,spices and water. Bake until done. What canned and frozen veggies do you have on hand? Make soup. Eggs? Have breakfast for dinner one night. Pancake mix goes a long way. Last night–clean out the fridge of any and all leftovers to prepare for shopping/restock day. I will figure out more tomorrow. My grandmother was an expert at this.
