I seem to remember in my youth that the United States sometimes sent people to ensure that elections in Banana Republics were not completely corrupt. I’ve asked that question a few times over the past couple months, and for much of August and September the answer has been a qualified yes. But recent events — a bad performance at the first presidential debate, the release of an interview showing Trump making lewd comments about women, and a middling second debate performance, to name a few — have widened Clinton’s lead. And based on quantitative polling benchmarks I developed in August, a Trump comeback is improbable. …

Comey thought this was going to go away. It is not. People inside the are furious. They are embarrassed. They feel they are being led by a hack. But, more than that, they think he’s a crook. They think he’s fundamentally dishonest. They have no confidence in him. The bureau, inside, right now… is a mess.

I am reading a book by William Koenig, Revealed. It’s about how Obama has deliberately set out to destroy the America we know. He has largely succeeded. Thanks to those who wouldn’t vote for a Mormon.

But both candidates are bad–pretty equally bad, in my opinion, though in different ways–and our trust cannot be in either one.
Chas, I have a hunch it’s only a very tiny percentage of people who refused to vote for Romney because he’s a Mormon. I know several people who voted third party believing him to be a RINO, but none who did so because he’s a Mormon.
The really funny thing about this election is that I think most NeverTrumpers are actually hoping he wins. They (include me in this group) would never vote for him or her, but really look forward to saying, “See! We told you he might be worse than her.”
At the same time I think some reluctant Trump voters are rooting for her because they are afraid of hearing those words but would love to be able to say, “See what she is doing! You NeverTrumpers own this!”

Since the subject of wasting one’s vote on a third party candidate came up, I am sharing this article, along with the preface written by a friend (Kyle). . .

1. Voting is state-by-state for the president. The winner is not necessarily the one who wins the most popular votes on the national level.

3. Your lone vote is worth only a fraction of a percentage point even in the smallest states.
4. Wasted votes include the extra votes that a candidate doesn’t need to win. If Trump wins a certain state by 60%, then 9% of the votes could be considered wasted votes, since he did not need them to win. That 9% could have voted for anyone else, and Trump still would have won.
5. Wasted votes include all the votes for a losing candidate, so if Trump gets 30% of the votes in a certain state, all those votes are wasted votes. Everyone who voted for him could have voted for a third-party candidate, and Clinton would still have won.

Speaking of Third Party candidates, Sweet Meteor O’Death wins 23% of the 18-35 year old vote against Trump and Hillary. Interestingly, in a one-on-one match-up with Trump, 53% of these same voters prefer the meteor.
An update on the guy in the video mentioned in the first post explaining how they incited violence at Trump rallies. Seems he has visited the White House on 342 occasions, 47 of those were to see Obama.
He and his Democrat friends have now moved on from astroturfing to voter fraud. And yes, there’s more video. They like to drink and brag. And cuss…. alot.
I can vote for Trump and trust in God to work out the details for good the same as those who vote for Hillary or the same as those who vote third party or choose to sit out this election. We don’t have the mind of God to know exactly what He is up to with this unusual election season. Trump was not my choice in the primary, I did my part to keep this from happening. I do feel that from my perspective that Clinton has done far more against our government than Trump has. I also do not think Bill Clinton deserves to live in the White House again. One last thought is that I am glad Chas lives in North Carolina.
It does somewhat depend on the state you’re in. Swing states like Chas’ become tougher, decision-wise.
But I agree that either one or the other will win — so if I’m voting (which I usually am) I have no trouble voting for the best of those 2 choices, knowing that.

We knew many had no standards when they didn’t keep their word and back Trump as the nominee, as they pledged they would. It happens in politics.
Bottom line, there are only 2 choices. Hillary or Trump. A vote for a campaign that can’t win, is still a vote for one or the other.
Some may choose to pretend otherwise, but that doesn’t make it so. The Never Trumpers know this too, but would rather give it to Hillary. It’s time to stop pretending this isn’t so, just admit it.
Oh that’s right, you can’t because then you lose the “high ground” you think you’re standing on if you admitted you were voting for a lying, cheating criminal, or at least hoping she won. You know a Hillary presidency would be disastrous, and would continue us on the route to further degradation of decency, and a further embrace of perversion. Things will get worse, and you know it, yet you refuse to acknowledge this. You’re too busy name calling and making fun of someone’s skin tone. That’s pretty low ground for someone who thinks they’re perched above the rest of us, because only they are smart enough Christians. Kinda makes what you say ring hollow.
And you’ll have to forgive the more pragmatic amongst us who already see this, and will vote accordingly because Clinton would be worse.

The question for evangelical Trumpkins is the same question that faced Bill Clinton supporters like Lanny Davis 18 years ago: Will you continue to support a man who committed multiple sexual assaults?
Clinton was caught when a few of his victims talked to the press. Trump was caught, when in true idiotic Trump fashion, he bragged/confessed to a reporter while wearing a microphone. The ever-growing list of victims is only confirming the truthfulness of the moron’s confession.

I am reading a book by William Koenig, Revealed. It’s about how Obama has deliberately set out to destroy the America we know. He has largely succeeded. Thanks to those who wouldn’t vote for a Mormon.
That aside, Koenig quotes a transsexual named Riki Wilchins in an article in “The Advocate”.
Titled, “We’ll win the Battle When the Binary Burns”, Wilchins says the real goal is to kill the notion of male and female altogether. The “binary” refers to gender distinction, and getting rid of the “heterobinary .structure” is the goal. Wilchins writes that the fact tjat we are arguing over male and female facilities is proof that we still have a long way to go.”
The battle lines are drawn. However, no matter how it looks, it will always be boy/girl, man/woman. It has been so forever in every culture. No matter what CNN and MSNBC say, it will always be that way.

Do you remember the biblical story of Jephthah, who pledged to sacrifice to the Lord whatever first came out of his tent . . . and when his daughter is the one who came out of the tent (apparently he was expecting a goat or a sheep), he “kept his word” and sacrificed her? Was he acting honorably? Do you really think that a promise is so binding that NOTHING is vile enough to make one say “I just can’t”? What if someone had promised Bill Clinton he’d support him on his second run, but that was before Monica Lewinsky and all that junk came out? What good is someone’s “backing” if it is there even if the guy he is backing turns out to be reprehensible? Is it more honorable to continue to support Hitler just because you said you would, or to admit you were wrong in making that promise? Even the marriage vow has an adultery clause!

No, sorry, it isn’t. It is a “no” vote. If someone asks you whether you want your wife to be killed by a tiger or a bear, are you “choosing” one or the other if you say, “No, don’t kill her at all”?

I changed one letter in this sentence, because it fits either way. Voting for either person is voting for a lying, cheating criminal. And if we can’t “call you on it” for deliberately voting yes for Trump, you can’t accuse us of “voting for a lying, cheating criminal” when we say we cannot in good conscience vote for either of the lying, cheating criminals. You’re welcome to claim the moral high ground if it will make you feel good. But the reality is this: There are no good options in this election. Anybody who is satisfied with either candidate has some problems or hasn’t looked very closely. There are no good major-party candidates, and no good choices here.

Neither candidate stands for righteousness. Both are thoroughly wicked individuals. Our trust is not in the candidates; our trust is in the Lord. On this one, I am choosing to step away and trust in Him. Whether He will let our country descend into the chaos on whose brink we stand, I don’t know. But both candidates are bad–pretty equally bad, in my opinion, though in different ways–and our trust cannot be in either one.

Chas, I have a hunch it’s only a very tiny percentage of people who refused to vote for Romney because he’s a Mormon. I know several people who voted third party believing him to be a RINO, but none who did so because he’s a Mormon.

The really funny thing about this election is that I think most NeverTrumpers are actually hoping he wins. They (include me in this group) would never vote for him or her, but really look forward to saying, “See! We told you he might be worse than her.”
At the same time I think some reluctant Trump voters are rooting for her because they are afraid of hearing those words but would love to be able to say, “See what she is doing! You NeverTrumpers own this!”

Being on this thread with Cheryl, I feel like a minor player on the Cleveland Cavaliers on the floor with Lebron James. I throw up an awkward shot, a defender gets a piece of it, then LeBron flies in for the rebound and dunks. On defense, I let my man get by me, LeBron blocks his shot, races down the floor and dunks again. Tychicus and I have seen a lot of that.

Since the subject of wasting one’s vote on a third party candidate came up, I am sharing this article, along with the preface written by a friend (Kyle). . .
“This article is a good thorough explanation as to why a vote for a third-party or independent candidate is not a wasted or thrown away vote.
It is a bit long, so I will summarize it.
1. Voting is state-by-state for the president. The winner is not necessarily the one who wins the most popular votes on the national level.
2. Only in states where it is extremely close will the votes for third-party candidates change the outcome.
3. Your lone vote is worth only a fraction of a percentage point even in the smallest states.
4. Wasted votes include the extra votes that a candidate doesn’t need to win. If Trump wins a certain state by 60%, then 9% of the votes could be considered wasted votes, since he did not need them to win. That 9% could have voted for anyone else, and Trump still would have won.
5. Wasted votes include all the votes for a losing candidate, so if Trump gets 30% of the votes in a certain state, all those votes are wasted votes. Everyone who voted for him could have voted for a third-party candidate, and Clinton would still have won.
6. There are benefits to voting for a third party candidate: their party might qualify from campaign money next time around, the other parties will take notice and modify their platforms, the other parties will take notice and nominate a different sort of candidate next time around, local candidates from that party will have a better chance of winning, more people will join that party as it is seen to be more and more viable, more people will vote that way next time.
7. Besides, it is always possible for a third-party candidate to win however improbable it is. It is definitely possible for them to change the outcome by winning one or two key states.
8. Your vote is your voice, so the only wasted vote is a vote you give to a candidate that you don’t really support or believe in.”

Speaking of Third Party candidates, Sweet Meteor O’Death wins 23% of the 18-35 year old vote against Trump and Hillary. Interestingly, in a one-on-one match-up with Trump, 53% of these same voters prefer the meteor.

I can vote for Trump and trust in God to work out the details for good the same as those who vote for Hillary or the same as those who vote third party or choose to sit out this election. We don’t have the mind of God to know exactly what He is up to with this unusual election season. Trump was not my choice in the primary, I did my part to keep this from happening. I do feel that from my perspective that Clinton has done far more against our government than Trump has. I also do not think Bill Clinton deserves to live in the White House again. One last thought is that I am glad Chas lives in North Carolina.

It does somewhat depend on the state you’re in. Swing states like Chas’ become tougher, decision-wise.
But I agree that either one or the other will win — so if I’m voting (which I usually am) I have no trouble voting for the best of those 2 choices, knowing that.
Trump was #17 on my list — no, probably he wasn’t even on the list in the primary season.
But here we are.
And, as Janice said, the Invisible Hand will determine the outcome, always. And that’s a good thing, even when it “seems” bad.

Martin Luther King’s neice, Alveda King, just voted for Trump because of the Republican platform. I’m with her on that. She is a big pro-life advocate. The news just said people in the county next door stood in line for four hours to vote. They just interviewed Alveda. She is brilliant.
